What Kind of Place Is This...

"I demand a meeting with the captain of this division!" A rather regal looking woman stood glaring up at a rather hassled looking member of the Rukon Division. Her yellow-gold eyes narrowed as her red lips pursed, the red markings on her face and hands positively shimmering in the light as she pointed up at them.

Wearing a rather expensive looking kimono, in addition her air and tone, were that of a Lady... What could she possibly have to see the Captain of this division for? "I have a formal complaint to lodge! It must reach the Captain's ears and I won't have it buried in paperwork. Lady Morinaga will not wait much longer."

She hadn't been waiting long at all but... Well it was important to hurry before her bodyguards caught up with her. They'd been following her trail since way back in that out of the way district...

"Hmmm?" Souichiro spoke as a young Shinigami came to fetch him about the little confusion going on outside. He had been napping with a book over his face and was only half awake when the young seated shinigami entered. "Someone wishes to see me..?"

"Yes, Captain Kageyama. She's quite insistent that it'd be you to see her. Normally we'd go to the Lieutenant.. but ah.." The shinigami trailed off. Souichiro knew what he was getting at. He had yet to name a Lieutenant for his division and everyone was wondering why.

"Alright, show me to her." Souichiro spoke with a light yawn while following the shinigami out of his quarters. Honestly he wasn't expecting much from this meeting, thinking it was some noble sticking their nose in his squad's business. So it was a pleasant surprise to find what he did! A rather striking young woman with exotic looks. "I'm the Captain of the 3rd division, Souichiro Kageyama. What can I do for you, miss..?"

At the time, Hayate was asleep in his mind so he didn't have her to worry about for the moment. She hadn't noticed that he's already woke or else she'd have gotten up herself to keep an eye on him.

"You are the captain?" Yuzuki's eyebrow raised as she took in the sight of the Division 3 Captain. She was...honestly used to male captains looking a bit more dainty than this, what with Masaru and Hideki. Now this was a real manly man in the veins of her father and grandfather! Feeling at ease, she coughed politely before crossing her arms. Her eyes were still narrowed but they were infinitely nicer than before.

"I have a complaint to lodge about a member's actions in West Rukon District 4." Her tone was softer but still haughty. Big burly men put her guard down.

"Hmm, go on.." Souichiro spoke as his mind mentally searched for who that could be. If Hayate was awake, this'd go infinitely easier, but as it was right now.. he's own his own. He stroked his beard absently as he waited to hear what this member of his squad did. Depending on what it was to inconvenience such a beautiful woman, he might have to exact swift punishment on this member!

"Also, what may I call you, my lady?" Souichiro asked, flashing her a rogueish grin while he awaited her answers.

"Hm, I am Yuzuki, Heir to the Morinaga Noble house." Brushing a bit of white hair away from her face with a smug flourish, she then returned that hand to being crossed in front of her. Yuzuki seemed to not notice the man's roguish grin. Instead she was highly focused on her story as she began to explain this members apparent faults.

"They kick dogs! Dogs! Dogs who have done nothing but be adorable and beg for delicious scraps from a rather well off person who could spare a few pieces. Then, more importantly, when someone dared to call them out on it, they threatened said person! It wasn't as if she cared about the stupid dog, but her honor as a Morinaga demanded it! And when she revealed who she was, they did not try to make right. In fact they just continued about their business. However this time the brave young woman did NOT get their name or position so she could do nothing about such behavior." Yuzuki's rant was interrupted for breath. "She would continue to run into this uncouth shinigami, who did such things as neglect his duty and ignore rukon residents pleas for help. Or attempt to much more than swagger and kick small children and DOGS. He had something against them. He can't be allowed to continue like this! His mannerisms betray all of the Seireitei and all within it! When I... I found a scrap of his uniform today and brought it directly here to his squad."

Reaching into a pocket, she pulled out a slightly bloody piece of uniform with the tag on it with his name and rank and Division. It was torn as if by...dog teeth and she spoke more. "With such a pleasant captain I believe you can handle this correctly. You look fitting for the job, Captain Kageyama. I can trust you yes?"

"But of course, you can trust me with this manner." Souichiro spoke after listening to her story. He was curious as to how exactly she got this scrap of cloth, but that was a question for another day. It seems one of his Shinigami was acting quite unbecoming of his rank and that certainly wouldn't do! It brings reproach on him and his squad and most importantly, he upset this pretty lady!

"You wait right there, I'll deal with this right now." Souichiro spoke as he looked over the scrap. Him again. This wasn't the first time he's had to deal with this one.. but he's certainly gonna make it the last time. Pulling out a cellphone, Souichiro dialed a number. "Hey, it's Kageyama. Yes, I need you two to bring in the seventh seat from West Rukon District 4. Yes, yes, alright. Be here in five minutes. I'm counting." He spoke into the phone before hanging up.

"Alright, my lady Morinaga, the culprit is getting delivered to us as we speak so please be patient. I'll handle this so you won't have to worry about him anymore." Souichiro spoke soothingly, gesturing towards the HQ. "Won't you come have a seat in my office?"

Yuzuki's smile turned truly bright for a moment as she smiled. Yes! This manly man was just the man for the job. "I knew you were a trustworthy Captain the moment I saw you."

Watching as he dealt with the manner, she crossed her arms and her haughty smirk returned. Peerfect. He wouldn't be hurting and causing problems for that district again! He had kicked her yes... but she was more worried about the nice people there than anything. She had taken that stupid scrap when he tried to steal money from the nice lady who fed her right from her table... Not that she'd let this man know that.

Another smile, still haughty but softer formed as she nodded. "I shall leave it in your capable hands Captain Kageyama. Please, call me Yuzuki. Of course, show to your office if you will?"

His soothing voice worked and she gave a soft laugh, moving towards HQ at a decent pace.

Souichiro's office was rather nice and neat as he keeps it in impeccable condition; partly in thanks to Hayate keeping it that way when she's in control. He had nice soft leather seats for both himself and any guests he'd be entertaining. "Please, have a seat! They should be bringing him in any minute now." Souichiro says with a smile.

Yawning, Hayate finally awakened within Souichiro. She wondered how long she had been asleep until she saw something wrong. So, so wrong. Souichiro was alone with a woman! And by the looks of her, she was possibly a noble! "Soichiro! What are you doing?!" She yelled suddenly, making him wince.

Good afternoon to you too. He thought to himself.

"What are you doing with her?! I know its something bad isn't it?" Hayate angrily replied.

It's Shinigami business. One of our squad members were acting badly. Souichiro thought as said person was brought into his office. "Do you know why I brought you here?" He asked the man in question.

"Thank you." Yuzuki was enjoying the man's perfect hospitality, smiling brightly as she took a seat. Her usual guard and smugness dropped around this normal male instead of the pretty boys that seemed to fill the world.

She watched as the hated shinigami appeared, her lips moving into a decidedly canine like snarl before she composed herself. She covered her mouth with a fan that she snapped open, her redlined yellow eyes glaring over top of it.

The shinigami in question wasn't sure what he was doing there, so he asked. "What am I doing here, Captain?" He asked cautiously, glancing at Yuzuki suspiciously for a moment. "I was just doing my job and the Third and Fourth Seats came to pick me up suddenly."

"Well, I've got some good news for you! I've got a job for you to do." Souichiro says with a big smile. "Firstly, you're now my Lieutenant so congrats!"

"WHAT?! REALLY?!! YEEEESSSSSSSS!!" The young man yelled, pumping his fist.

"Your first assignment is who's in trouble for treating the citizens of Rukongai badly. I'll give you a hint, IT'S YOU." Souichiro spoke as suddenly he had crossed the distance between himself and the young man in an instant, holding him up by his robe. "For bringing reproach on our name and being an overall scumbag, I am busting your rank down to Unranked and you'll spend a while in prison, thinking about what you've done."

"B-But I didn't do anything!!" He protested until Souichiro held up the scrap of cloth, his eyes widening. "That.. that.. FUCKING MU-!!" He began to yell before Souichiro punched him square in the jaw, sending him sprawling to the floor.

"I will let you out once I'm sure you're repentant over what you've done. Not a moment sooner." Souichiro speaks as two guards rush into the room to pick up the shinigami roughly. "And you better hope and pray I don't forget about you. Which I might for your foul language infront of a lady. Take him away."

Souichiro sighs and shakes his head. "Thank you for bringing this matter up to me, my lady. I'll have to do a careful inspection of all my men to make sure nothing like this is happening elsewhere." He says with a calm smile. "I trust you're fine with how I handled it?"

Yuzuki watched it all with wide eyes, her smile hid behind the fan for the moment. This man deserved such a lashing with the Captain's tongue and more. She let out a pleased little laugh as the man was also punched, this was perfect! He had gotten good news and then bad news... It had been such the perfectly evil response. Even if Yuzu's honorable thoughts made her feel a bit bad...

Still, he had done worse to her friends. They deserved vengeance and repayment. Souichiro seemed to feel bad and she shook her head as her fan snapped closed, sliding up her sleeve once more. "No, thank you for dealing with it. A Captain is a busy position, you can not look over all your people at once and at all times. Call me Yuzuki! Not my lady."

A slightly pouty expression appeared on her features. Had she remembered to give him permission for that? No? Well he had helped her out and dealt with things... Moving to stand, the fan slid out of her sleeve once more and she held it out to Souichiro. "You dealt perfectly, I enjoyed seeing such a mean person stopped. I mean... such a person not following the rules. Rules are important! Here, accept this token of my thanks."

Souichiro arched an eyebrow briefly at Yuzuki's comment, but let it go. Whatever her reason for bringing this before him wasn't his concern. Had he found out at a later date of his subordinate's misbehavior, it probably would've been much, much more worse for him. Accepting the fan graciously, Souichiro smiled and bowed briefly. "I thank you for the gift, Yuzuki. I'll cherish it as it'll always remind me of you." He says smoothly. "Though, I hope this won't be the only time I get to see you."

Uh oh. He was starting up. Hayate knew it was only a matter of time before he goes back to his old antics. She was honestly impressed that Souichiro actually handled that situation within a degree of good control. She heard stories about his methods of commanding shinigami but never saw it in action until today. "Please, Soichiro... just let this one go. Messing with nobility never ends well." Hayate pleaded with her partner, but knew it was falling on deaf ears.

"Maybe it won't! I will add you to the people I visit, yes." That was a pleasing reaction to her fan! Yuzuki smiled and lifted her nose a bit more, someone appreciated such things FINALLY. More and more she was assured of her choices perfection.

"Having tea with ones friends is a good thing to do, I hope you would like something like that? We are friends now, correct?" Unaware of any intentions Souichiro may have, Yuzuki may be walking into a trap she could escape... Hopefully not though!

"Tea? Tea is perfect!" Souichiro says with a hearty laugh. "I enjoy tea when I have someone to drink it with!"

Don't worry Hayate, I have no plans of besmirching her honor and having my head on display somewhere. Souichiro thought to his partner. It's just some playful flirting! Somehow, Hayate didn't believe him. It wasn't like Souichiro to let a beautiful woman go without a fight, so there had to be a reason behind it.

But what?

"Hmm.. if you say so. But I've got my eye on you." Hayate replies, crossing her arms as she watches the two of them.

"Shall I escort you back home, Yuzuki?" Souichiro asks as he offers her his arm.

"Perfect! We shall enjoy tea together sometimes." This man and his nice and happy manners. Yuzuki smiled and reached out to take his arm, perfectly positioned without too much touching. She knew exactly what was allowed and what wasn't by her family's codes by now.

"Of course kind Sir. I would be honored to be escorted back." It would also keep her family from yelling at her for running off as a dog. This was perfect! A cover, a good excuse and a reason to not get yelled at. This day just got better and better. "The compound lay in the Noble districts. Do you know the way or should I lead you?"

"I believe I know the way, my dear." Souichiro spoke with a smile as he led her out the door. "I've been around Soul Society enough times to know where to go."

As the two walked, Hayate furrowed her brow as she tried to think of what Souichiro could be up to. So far, he's acted like the perfect gentleman.. but that's so unlike him! She was really suspicious of his attitude, but had no evidence to act upon. Not like she could do much aside from yell at him in this state.

"So, what's your family like, Yuzuki?" Souichiro asked, looking over at her with raised eyebrows. He was actually curious about this so it wasn't a lie at all. He wanted to know more about the people who raised a beauty like this one.

"They are regal and powerful. Very normal otherwise, I suppose though." Yuzuki was unsure of how to respond to such a question, so she followed Souichiro after nodding to his words. He knew the way, there would be no issues then. "Grandfather runs the Family, I am his heir therefore I live in his household. We send members to become shinigami like most other noble houses as well. I am not sure what else to speak of? The Morinagas are mostly historians or deal with the movement of money more so."

"Interesting, very interesting! And what of you, my dear? I'd like to hear about you too!" Souichiro spoke as they walked, smiling down at her kindly. The thought of the Morinaga house being a house of beautiful people came to mind.. but something at the back of his mind itched. Wasn't there something about the Morinaga house that he should recall..? Ah well! It's probably not important!

"M-Me? I just... I am a scholar! I study the Rukon and its residents and their lifestyles, as well as secrets in the Seireitei itself. I come from the main branch of the family and was chosen as its heir!" Yuzuki puffed up slightly at such an pronouncement. She was heir because her shifting power, but she didn't mention that. At least she turned into a... 'wolf'. Poor Grandfather was a pomeranian. He rode on her back sometimes in doge form...

"It is why I was out there and caught such a person. Who you took care of impeccably." All smiles, Yuzuki beamed up at Souichiro.

"Hehe, I'm glad you're happy about that! I aim to please, my dear!" Souichiro spoke as he mused over her words. "So a Scholar huh? That's a pretty good job and it suits you well for being such a refined lady."

Heir, huh? That's pretty cool, don't you think Hayate? Souichiro thought as the two of them walked, growing ever closer to their destination. Hayate stayed quiet as she was still puzzling over what Souichiro was doing. He HAD to be up to no good!

"Then you do it successfully. Honestly, I wish I had more time to devote to scholarly pursuits though! Too much hassle being heir and training. So many things to take care of." Yuzuki grumbled, it wasn't like she chose to be heir but... it was her duty. She'd do it. It wasn't so bad sometimes, but she would like a lot more free time to pursue her own wants.

Well she did kind of sneak out a ton to do just that. "I am glad you have noticed, my family still insists on seeing me as a child! So please ignore any grumpiness they may hold for my leaving the compound earlier."

Yeah, they would be a bit grumpy but hopefully a guest would distract them. A Captain visiting was an honor they would have to deal with properly.

After making some small talk along the way, the two of them finally arrived at the location of where Yuzuki lived.. with a little help from Yuzuki as Souichiro didn't know the exact residence of where she resided. Taking a look around as they walked up to the building, Souichiro whistled. "Nice home you have here!" He says with a small chuckle as they headed inside. "Well then! I've delivered you home without incident!"

Souichiro smiled kindly down at Yuzuki as they reached the front door. "Then shall I take my leave now or would you rather I stayed a bit longer?" He asks her as he glances at the door. After all, first impressions are a important thing and he didn't want to fudge that by imposing on the good people.

Yuzuki enjoyed the company, it was nice to have someone to talk to who she could learn from. Much of how the Seireitei and Rukon was run had been an interesting topic of conversation, she had learned quite a bit. Smugly smiling at Souichiro's enthusiastic response to her home, Yuzuki laughed and waved off such compliments. "Of course, it has been in our family for generations. You may come in if you wish some tea and snacks, but you are a Captain. I would not keep such an esteemed and busy man away from his work if he couldn't spare time."

"Well, aside from today's activity... it has been kind of slow.." Souichiro mused as he stroked his beard. "Sure! I'll join you. I think my men can take care of things for a little while longer. And if there's an emergency, they'll know how to get my attention. So, after you, Yuzuki."

"Hmmmm..." Hayate murmured as she watched the events unfold. Souichiro was the perfect gentleman for once, but leopards don't change their spots so easily! He HAD to be up to something! He just had to be! But he was getting better at blocking out his random thoughts from her to keep her from hearing any of his ideas before they're executed.

Yuzuki waved a hand to a nearby servant, the sign to prepare a place for tea as she requested a nice kind. She was nothing if not polite and a Captain meant giving them rather nice kinds at that. And snacks, she was starving!

"This way, Souichiro. They shall bring tea in a few minutes. Welcome to the Morinaga main house, my estates are further back but this is where most guests are brought." Yuzuki led him down the hall, to a small rather pretty room. Holding open the door, she gestured him inside to a small table set on the floor with cushions around it.
