| (OOC: SO I'll run this topic a little different. Its a sorta starting topic for Masaru and Isaac (With Sarai as support? I guess, she's here cause an Espada should be since she'd know...), it'll split off easily. I'll respond to whoever responds first. I can fire off short ass posts and shit <_< Or just descriptive ones. Masaru and Isaac of course would have random NPCs also doing their work too with them. Also to keep it easy, I am using Yysara. That way I don't need to worry about Shinya? He would get all the information and have it all relayed to him.)
Deep in the depths of the antarctic lay a secret hidden underground base. The base itself was rather large, as scans and initial investigations would reveal. The only entrances would be from portals into the base or out... Saraiyu, in an effort to be useful, sent a few thralls in and allowed them to explore an initial area that would allow them a safe way in to explore this place.
By all reports it looked like a stereotypical medical or scientific study facility. The lights were still on, most of the machines still running as far as it seemed in the section proven safe for entering.
Saraiyu herself would come from the arrancar, a few of her most obedient and passive thralls along to help the investigation.
However instead of the worrying of using their brightest minds for the initial and potentially dangerous investigation (due to those worrisome bubbles), they instead sent two of the most competent shinigami and their men. Spec Ops Captain Isaac Winters and the Living World's Captain Masaru Shirakawa.
Those two would do the initial scouting and securing of the base along with their men and the Corona. Alongside the Corona, instead of her Master, was the Arrancar Yysara. As the Head Fraccion of the Living World on the arrancar's side, she would be keeping all the information and relaying it to her master. With the Corona here there was no need for another of such power to be trapped in case.
Saraiyu sat there at a computer terminal waiting for the others in the large, white and sterile looking room that was to be the base of operations. Her striated eyes scanned the information as a thrall seemed to be copying it somehow due to this. The Shinigami should arrive soon in this room, messages had been exchanged after all.
Yysara stood nearby, taking notes on a fancy looking tablet thing the Corona had gifted her. Only a few snakes were on her at this time, those almost humanlikely aware to help in her spotting of traps or other such problems.
This initial room where it was deemed all safe, had a few computer terminals running and was otherwise rather empty.

| Scouting the area and securing the base, that was the duty they had been assigned.
Masaru led a few of himself and a few of his own subordinates to the icy location of Antarctica; the base had been found, all the data and sources leading to this area... This was the source...the source of those bubbles...
Along with the Captain of the Spec Ops, and the Corona were investigating the area. So far...he hadn't come across any signs of outright danger...
Nothing of extreme note had come at them so far, none of his men reporting anything too odd...not yet anyway; there was no telling what could be lying in wait here.
He was keeping a watchful eye out, his guard up and his senses heightened. He needed to remain utterly focused...
The main room...he needed to head there first, it's where the Corona awaited them.
It took only a short while to reach the main area, his eyes immediately landing on where the Corona currently sat along with another arrancar nearby.
He gave a nod of acknowledgment, as well as a small bow at least to show some respect before approaching further. | |

| It was a short time after Masaru arrived that Isaac arrived himself, a few support members in tow, along with another field operative. He planned on heading in himself with the support crew staying here with the Corona, though if something happened, they had the other operative to provide field support.
"Captain Shirakawa." He said curtly, though not without respect. He turned his attention to the arrancar in the room and felt himself seize up a little.
"Corona... Miss Yysara." His speech was stiff though not at all hostile. He just... Had not behaved... appropriately.. the last time he had seen them... And it was honestly still... a little traumatic... He suppressed a shudder and walked over. "So... What's the situation?" It took a great deal of his own nerve to not be stuttering at the moment. | |

| "Captains." No name was used, Sarai was far too busy right now to even pretend formalities or anything. Instead she leaned back and held out her hands with little ear pieces. "Take this. It'll keep you in contact with me. Yysara has one, she'll be Shirakawa's partner for this. I'll be heading with you, Spec Ops, to explore for a short ways as there's a room just out of the thralls reach, you'll both get a contingent of my disposables to toss at potential traps if you want."
Without any preamble she began describing the conditions she had found out so far from her thralls. "The place has tons of traps. A whole room collapsed on a few of them already, a hallway went up in flames, all sorts of fun. I'm sending out as many as I can and finding all the safe ways through to that energy at the core, your paths will follow them. Hopefully you won't set more of them off."
She frowned and looked distracted for a moment. "Fuck. One of them, smaller one snuck through to the center but just exploded from the energy... At the center of the building is a core of energy. Its the source, or former source of the bubbles. I'm trying to get a path there for you Winters, or at least find the least deadly. Shirakawa, your men get to scout the 'safe' rooms and gather as much data and information as possible. They aren't all safe, or well entirely safe so don't worry. Its not like its the easy job. Whatever men you leave behind here should be secure and able to gather data from these terminals at least. Its weird, they all have scattered bits of information, differing information."
"Anyways, questions?" She was defacto head of this mission it seemed and damn it she would do her best to give the Shinigami information they needed. Whatever it had been, had been strong enough to trap even her.
Yysara nodded a greeting to Isaac and Masaru but stayed silent as her orders were given. The stoic arrancar nodded in acceptance, moving towards the one who must be who she was to tag along with. | |

| Masaru gave a nod towards Isaac as he appeared; now that they were all here, they could get down to business. As the Corona acknowledged them, and held her hands out, his eyes went to the ear pieces she was offering them.
They would use these to keep in contact; Isaac would be going with the Corona and he'd partner with the arrancar next to her...Yysara was her name.
He accepted the ear piece, listening to what more she had to say; for now...he saw no reason to speak up, he would hear everything that needed to be said first.
Her...disposables... Her thralls, then?
He and his own men would investigate the safe rooms, though there was no guarantee they were all "safe." He did not expect them to be...they would be careful then of the traps that had been mentioned.
The center held the former source of the bubbles...
He shook his head when she asked if there were any questions, "None from myself; I'll investigate the rooms as asked, and gather as much information as I can."
He would leave a small few of his men to investigate here, to assist with information gathering from the various terminals that the Corona had pointed out... A few would also come with him and Yysara.
Having said what he needed, he went about getting the earpiece on correctly as Yysara approached him. | |

| Isaac took the earpiece, looking it over before placing it in his ear. Seemed regular enough. He didn't particularly suspect the Corona, but it was never smart to put something a foreign leader gives you in your skull without at least glancing at it.
He looked in the direction they'd be headed. Hm. Did he have any questions? She'd covered most of it. Well... In so much as she'd told them everything she knew. She seemed about as blind as they were. That was a scary thought. Hrm... So there were traps... Who the hell was making them though.
"Any information on potential hostiles?" By hostiles, he meant actual people or at least living THINGS they might have to fight... Preparing for traps and preparing for a fight were different things. | |

| Yysara watched them all with wide eyes listening and noting things in the tablet as her eyes didn't need to scan it for the moment. Her snakes on her, Pastel among them, were also keeping an eye out.
"No hostiles so far. The traps are automated too it seems, unless someone wants us to think that and get too complacent. Be wary at least, some of the traps have been set off by the weirdest things. One of my thralls whistled in a hallway we deemed safe and it set a spike trap off. This person didn't like whistling it seems, since that's now the first thing I check." She didn't have to tell him really to be wary, but it was best to be prepared. Whoever invented half of these things were insane...
Waving her hand in the direction of her arrancar and the shinigami captain, she spoke one final thing to them. "Yysara has a map on that tablet for you, Shirakawa. Keep her and it safe, she'll lead you around."
Yysara nodded and held up the tablet, not needing words for the moment as her slightly snake-like eyes moved to take in Shirakawa. She would lead him out and thus headed for doorway.
"Lets go Winters, we have a bit more leg work than they do. I have the map in my head from the thralls." Sarai waved her hand at the man and moved towards the entrance, preparing to make her leave with the shinigami. | |

| Traps set off by merely whistling...
If they could be set off by...such trivial things, then they would need to take extra precaution. No whistling, for one...not that he or any of his men would absent mindedly.
The arrancar, Yysara had a tablet and on it was a map; Masaru nodded at that. It should prove helpful and his eyes went to the tablet as Yysara held it up for him to see.
His focus was on work, but had this been any other day he would have been taken slightly by surprise at how snake-like the woman really was, even more so by the many snakes she kept on her...for now though, he was strictly focused on his duties.
They had to figure all of this out, and end it.
As soon as Yysara moved, Masaru would follow; some of his men were waiting outside the door, while a couple had come in with him...though as he looked towards the door they were gone...possibly to inform the others of what was going to happen. | |

| Isaac gave a small 'huh'. Whistling. Really... Well he'd keep that in mind, he supposed. Still, he was a little nervous. Insane people were unpredictable. He liked being able to predict things. Still, he'd have the Corona with him. And he didn't have his position because he was bad at his job.
"Well." He made sure his Zanpakuto was loose in its scabbard. "Might as well get it over with." He said, following Sarai over.
"Well it's certainly not a carnival." He said with a sardonic snort. | |

| "This way." Yysara began leading Masaru out, trusting in Isaac and Saraiyu's skills and thus having no worries. Instead her worries focused on this job at present.
Her eyes scanned the map as she led the way through the sterile halls, down past the entirely safe as far as anyone could tell rooms that held nothing of actual note. A few thralls gathered around them and she assumed Masaru and his men would follow her.
However it wasn't long before she paused and nodded as her snakes stood at ultimate attention. "From here it is not safe. Be careful Lord Shinigami."
Giving him a respectful nod, she turned back and put her focus on safely leading him to the first location. A large room filled with...victims...
It took only a few turns before they reached it, the smell of blood almost chokingly strong as she moved to an entrance way. The door was pried open and inside were...things.
Beings that looked like they had been dissected, torn apart and then put back together with other things pieces. Yysara blinked amidst the carnage and stepped inside without another word. "Our first room. What were they trying to do?"
She blinked again and began taking notes, getting close to a desiccated body with no problems.
----
"Quite." Sarai wanted the answer to everything and she wanted it NOW. But her impatience wasn't useful and thus it was tossed aside as she lead Isaac from a different exit than the other pair.
The halls were sterile with rooms leading off of them and she had to smile, though he might not see with her in the lead for now. "Not at all like that, not even half as fun. Thank you for that reminder, Winters."
Well this should be interesting... She lead him past the designated safe zone and out into the less known area after only a few minutes before stopping suddenly. "...This is new. The map in my head is wrong. My thralls have never been here. I think we should be rather careful, Captain."
She moved her fingers in a circular motion, sending out two thralls to proceed carefully in a familiar pattern now. "Any suggestions?" | |

| "Right..." Masaru gave a nod, following Yysara out as they headed through the sterile looking halls. His men followed behind him, the ones that had followed him into the room earlier having briefed them on what they were going to be doing.
The rooms they'd passed so far...held nothing noteworthy about them, no information to really be extracted from them... Hm...
Shortly after though...
Not safe then...
"Alright. I'll keep an eye out." Saying that, he glanced back towards the shinigami behind him and nodded, warning them to keep their guards on high and to be careful.
The first of the more dangerous areas...
Eugh... At most there was a twitch of the eye from him as the smell of blood entered the atmosphere; it was strong, the stench...this room had...
Full of victims...
What were they trying to do...
Masaru looked around, eyes scanned the room as he stepped inside himself. The stench was almost overwhelming, but he couldn't let that halt him in his duties.
"Dissection... some look torn... Rebuilding?... They were researching...something...perhaps..." That was rather straight foward information, but Masaru was mostly talking to himself right now rather than listing important notes...
What had they possibly been trying to figure out? If there weren't some bodies that looked like they'd been put back together with...other pieces then there would be...just outright assumptions of a lust for massacre, but...by appearances it seemed just a little more than that... | |

| "More than welcome, Corona." He said, not taking his gaze from the hallway around them. He needed to be prepared for anything, though that didn't mean getting so lost in searching he got tunnel vision.
"Hm...." It sounded like the place was shifting. "Tie a rope around a thrall and put it out front. That way at least if it shifts in front of us, we'll be prepared." It also helped with any traps that might be obscured. If the line went slack it meant trouble. | |
