Quatro to Segunda

Esmerelda fidgeted, staring quietly at the Corona's door. She'd been summoned by Saraiyu earlier and, as soon as she could, she'd made her way here to see her. Sarai hadn't said what it was, which was making Esmer a bit of a nervous wreck. Usually Sarai at least briefly mentioned what a summons was about. This was just... It was like being called to the principal's office....

She thought to knock before changing her mind and just opening the door, peeking in at first.

"You called, Ma'am?" She asked meekly. If there was one person she even could be meek towards, it was the Corona.

Saraiyu was just sitting on her large imposing, important chair in this meeting room, looking over documents of vital importance. She was relaxed at least, her body not showing signs of anger or annoyance. Merely distraction, she was heavily distracted which was unusual for her.

Waving Esmer in, she flipped the page of an imposingly large and thick stack of papers, seemingly somehow stapled together through magic. "I did, come over here we have something to discuss."

Saraiyu yawned, it had been a long day.

Esmer quickly scanned over her liege. She didn't LOOK angry... could she be trusted to show anger? ..... yes. Yes she could... It's not like Esmerelda could escape if Sarai wanted her dead anyway... But she did look different.. busy? Usually Sarai looked almost disinterested with her work. Right now she looked like she needed a break, almost.

"O-okay..." She nodded and walked up to the desk, standing there awkwardly. "How can I help you, Ma'am?"

Sarai stretched as Esmer got closer, leaning back and looking over the meek woman. How unusual... It was odd to see her so meek, had she done something wrong lately? Saraiyu couldn't think of anything that came to mind and instead pulled a small party noise maker out of her vest coat. Blowing it once, she blinked and then waved to Esmerelda. "Congratulations, you are now the Segunda. I've reorganized the Espada rankings to fit better and removed several from power. Now, let me see your tattoo and I will change it."

Esmer already had a rather vital and important job so it wasn't like Shinya where she would have to remind him of his duties and enhanced responsibility. Besides, she was sure that Esmer knew what her promotion meant.

Esmerelda actually flinched when Sarai pulled out the noisemaker. She knew, consciously, that it was insane for the Corona to pull out a gun to kill someone, but she still just had the reflexes. When the Corona made the little party noise, well.... Esmer was officially fully confused.

"Wh..What? Se-Segunda?" Why? What had happened to.... "Ah.. Th-Thank you, Corona." She said, bowing quickly. "It's a great honor."

She walked around the desk, glancing down at herself and twisting her mouth into a little frown before sighing and pulling her pants far enough down that she could slip one leg out, revealing the 4 Tattoo on her thigh. "May I ask what happened to those above me?" She was in charge of intelligence and she was asking politely.

In the meantime, even rarer than the meekness, Esmer showed the slightest amount of blush on her face.

Esmer sure was jumpy... Sarai was a bit confused over this, but well she had been busy... Now she felt a bit bad for not informing the woman first but there had been so much to do...

"You are most welcome. I do reward those powerful and loyal and you are both, Esmer." Though hopefully it would keep her shenanigans down to... Oh who was Sarai kidding, it wouldn't do that at all. As Esmer stripped, The Corona turned in her seat as she brought a hand to the tattoo on her thigh. The soft burning of tattoo formation began just as Sarai spoke. "Shinya is my new Primera, taking the place of Abelinda who wished to be removed from Office. Abel is my new Quinto. Dagon... well..."

Sarai made vague hand motions as the new stylized two was formed on Esmer's inner thigh, potentially saying he was either demoted or melted or something. "Luca follows you as the new Tricera, with the Quatra open for the moment... Xavos remains as he is. Elly will become the new Noveno."

That was all the ones she thought for now...

Esmer glanced away as Sarai began changing the tattoo. She hissed slightly when the burning started. It only stung a little but the spot was... "Ow ow. Why did I pick such a sensitive spot for a tattoo..." She glared at the shifting numbers, muttering a little "dammit." Under her breath and rubbing the spot as soon as it had finished forming. Between the touching and the soft burning, some muscles tensed up and she more or less scurried to get herself fully dressed.

"Thank you very much for the praise, Corona! I'm glad Abelinda is still in our ranks, though I won't miss Dagon too much." She, for some reason or another, refused to look at Sarai at the moment.

"I don't know, I am rather amused at you and Luca's choices to be honest." Chuckling softly, the Corona yawned a bit more as Esmer scurried away and quickly got dressed. She understood a bit of what was wrong and waved her hand in dismissal.

"You can go now, I hope you will serve me as Segunda for some time Esmer. Be safe." Knowing the woman's work was dangerous, she gave her that warning with a smile. She had meant every word.

"Oh, and keep me updated on the daughter situation. You have that device, it can send small messages. Please feel free to do so."

She was dressed now, but the damage was done. She sighed quietly. Great. This was going to be one of those moments that played differently in her dreams later. Because that wasn't awkward. She might have said something, if a several hundred years hadn't made it clear she was barking entirely up the wrong tree.

"You know I will, ma'am. You're the only person I'll serve, really." She said, letting her mouth get the best of her briefly.

"And y-yeah, I'm going to talk to her this week, actually. I'll text you." She nodded before quickly heading for the door.

"Thank you." True appreciation for the woman's loyalty shone in Sarai's smile, watching as she left. It was also appreciate for her trust as well with the matter of her child.

They could handle that incident later this week then, it would hopefully be settled... Now she just had to inform Elly of her promotion! How to do so though...

Staring down at the large, imposing stack of papers, Sarai scooted them a bit away from her before looking around. Well, there was work to do if she was to properly inform her daughter.
