| The dank wet smell of this rather... far out there section of rukon, was heavy in the air. Everyone who was out was either covered in mud or some sort of darker color. Most didn't even bother leaving their homes. It was overcast and much darker than it should be for the middle of the day.
It was then, as the sun broke through the clouds, that a pure white puffball pranced into view. It was fluffy, it looked soft, its whiteness only marred by the mud splashed slightly up its leg. The rest was fluff and fuzz and soft as far as the eyes could see. A floofy curled tail, curled up perfectly over its back. Cute pointy ears picking up all sorts of sounds, a distinct lack of panting as it trotted along at a brisk pace.
It was a wealthy person's dog. Well cared for and perfectly groomed. No one wanted to touch it for fear of when they came looking for such an animal, though some thought to hold it ransom.
As the sun broke through the dog stopped. In front of it was a large mud puddle. It looked down at it, examined it. Circled around once. Circled around again... and then did the most inelegant flop ever into its muddy depths. The pure snow of the hair was tainted by the brown of mud, and soon there was no white left to be found as it rolled onto its back and smooshed around in the mud. Its paws danced in the air as it really ground in that mud. It was obviously very pleased with itself as it stood up, dripping and muddy, before it shook itself on all around it.

| With a skip in his step, the auburn haired ex-shinigami made his way through yet another district; humming a tune as he did so. It was a good day so far despite the weather not looking it's best. No hard-headed street thugs picking fights with him, no pickpockets had approached him, and he'd been able to enjoy a nice small meal.
He still held two sticks of takoyaki in his hand, having it for a meal on the go after he'd eaten.
Kaimu came to a stop at a place to sit down, a quaint little alleyway between two dusty, wooden buildings.
Still humming, he took a bite of one of the takoyaki balls on the stick, enjoying the pleasant taste.

| The smell of food, food being held by someone who could be conned into giving some to the hapless pup, drew the dog like a fly to a dead body. Its fur was perfect once again, though slightly damp. Someone had rinsed it off just a bit before at a water pump and it had shook all it could off before bounding after the smell.
Following the person to the alley, it plopped its cute head onto the man's lap and looked up with sad puppy eyes and a slight whine. Its golden eyes pathetic and as awful as it could be, and if he looked down the dog was sucking in any belly or hint of stuff that could potentially be seen. 'pls, doge cute and hungry'

| His humming stopped when he felt a weight place itself on his lap. Looking down, he saw a rather elegant looking white dog, much too rich looking for this district but looking hungry nonetheless.
"Ne~ Are you hungry?" He smiled. "Here, you can have this stick."
He offered the stick he hadn't eaten from yet, a kind smile on his face. He wondered if the dog was lost or something, it's fur looked a little damp as well. Had it run away? There were many tales of pampered pups that saw themselves as too pampered, running away to live the free life to do as they pleased. Was this dog like that, or was it simply lost?

| The dog's tail went ninety miles an hour as it backed up and did a little happy woof spin dance before accepting a takoyaki with gentle teeth. It pulled the takoyaki off with its mouth and quickly devoured it before moving onto the next and next. It was obviously a very pampered dog, not wanting its food to touch the ground at all.
Once it ate all the takoyaki on its stick, it laid its head back down on Kaimu's lap, looking soulfully at the other stick. A small whimper escaped it mouth. 'pls moar i likd it, u still has left'

| He gave a chuckle at the dog's little dance, seeing how happy it was to receive food before it ate. He could tell just be watching it how much of a pampered dog was, as it didn't let it's food touch the ground.
After it ate, the process seemed to repeat itself as it's eyes landed on what was left of the one he'd eaten from. He'd already eaten, so he honestly didn't mind. With a smile he offered it up to the dog.
"Here, I've already eaten today so I don't mind you having it."

| Repeating its actions from earlier, the dog gently took them off of the stick and ate the takoyaki. Once the stick was clean, the puppy did a happy spin while its tail wagged. It then woofed and used its front paws to hold itself up while it licked Kaimu's face. 'thxthxthx gud man'
Hopping back to the ground once the face kisses had been given, the dog then spun in a moving happy circle, chasing its tail. '2day bes day, hapy doge'

| Kaimu let out a laugh as the dog moved to lick it's face, it'd been awhile since he'd played with an animal such as a dog or cat. It was nice and fun. He watched as the dog moved from licking him to chasing it's tail to which smiled at.
"It must be fun to be a dog, you get to be petted, loved, get treats a lot, and play all the time." He chuckled. "Do you get to do those types of things? You don't really look like the dogs you'd find in the districts. Though you might be the dog of a nice, rich family and you just wanted to get out a bit. I could understand that."
He was talking to a dog, but he didn't find it strange. Even if the animal wouldn't be able to properly answer back he felt they could still understand to some extent, so it wasn't like no one was listening.

| Stopping on a dime, the dog looked at Kaimu and gave a sad whine at the words about getting to do those dog things. It sat down, its tail making a small sweeping a spot clean on the ground with slow wags. It sneezed at the 'do you get to do those types of things' comment and its head drooped. 'no, dis doge do nots'
Being from a rich family and getting out lots made the sad go away again and the dog hopped up with a happy bark. It bent down its front legs and wiggled its butt, its head tilted in question. It looked like it was about to pounce on Kaimu. 'come play with meeeee'

| Kaimu stood from his spot at the dog's eagerness to what he figured was to play. Once standing he squatted down in front of the dog, "You sounded sad when I mentioned the dog things do you want me to pet you?" He asked, "this is really neat, it's like you understand me...though I think in a way all animals can understand to a certain extent when people talk to them." | |

| 'petpetpetpetpetpetpet' The dog starts doing happy bouncing half jumps, using only its front feet. It was excited for pettings and fell over to its side once it was done showing the world its joy, showing off its belly. An odd... almost red tattoo shone through the lighter fur on her stomach. As she dried more red marks might be seen on her body. It was an open invitation, a happy one. 'rubbellysbellyrubsyesyesyes'
It would ignore his almost could understand him comment. Of course dog could. Dog is dog.

| At the dog's excitement towards the possibility of being petted, Kaimu proceeded to do just that. As he petted the fluffy dog, he noticed red markings...like a tattoo. Odd, did rich families even mark their pets? He'd never really spent much time around nobility, so he couldn't be sure. He didn't pay much mind to it though, instead focusing on petting. | |

| The dog was happy and its tongue lolled out of its mouth. It was obvious by now the dog was a lady dog, no male ruffian and she appreciated the finer things in life. LIKE BELLY RUBS OH YES. She made a grumbly happy sound, moving on her back in happy joy. Yessssss.

| Kaimu was happy at how happy this dog was. When animals were happy their happiness could certainly be contagious.
"You're a really sweet doggy." Kaimu laughed, "people are really missing out if they don't play with you often."

| 'sweet doge yes' Finally tired of belly rubs, though not truly tired of them just of being on her back, the doggy rolled over onto her belly. Her back had dirt marring the perfect white and she panted slightly before woofing and licking a hand in thanks.
She wanted to play more, but that could not be done here in this alley. No... for that they would have to go. Scooting herself ahead, she woofed towards the entrance of the alley. She sat herself up, wagged her tail and looked from Kaimu to the entrance of the alley suggestively. 'we go esplore'

| As the dog moved and seemingly beckoned him to follow, he did so jogging slightly to catch up with it. It looked like it wanted to walk some, maybe it wanted to see the district? If it were a rich person's pet it certainly would be curious about new surroundings considering it probably spent most of it's time in some fancy mansion.
'You're really going to just sit around and play with a dog all day?'
'Why not? Don't be a killjoy.'
'Tch.' | |

| The dog shook off the dust and dirt, only a bit remaining as she pranced out of the alley, her new buddy in tow. As she did, her tail went up into its perfectly snappy curl and she held it and her head up like a flag. Properly escorted, a princess among dogs.
Looking back to make sure Kaimu followed, it woofed before taking off at a run. It obviously was taking Kaimu somewhere. 'follow follow!'
If she could have heard the spirit's voice, the dog would have gave it a swift woofing retort of such magnitude it would never call her just a dog again. Hmph.

| 'See!? This dog is smart, it wants to explore!'
'Or it just wants to find a place to shit.'
'It wouldn't ask me to follow it if that were the case!'
'Tch, it's not asking you anything. It's a dog.'
'You're no fun...'
Kaimu followed after the dog, breaking out into a run as it did so he could keep up with it. He was having fun and so was the dog, that was what mattered. He wasn't going to let Kuroshi rain on his day, like he tried to do every day. He was going to enjoy today like he'd been doing and have fun with a nice, fluffy, dog.

| This dog could not read minds. Thus it did not know the thoughts Kaimu had or the fight it was having with something in his head. It also did not know how happy it was making the man. If it did, the dog would somehow be more happy. Which would implode the universe because it is not possible to do so.
The happy dog gave a bark bark of joy, running at full tilt with the man behind her, giving a few happy hops as she led them on. Yaaay! She made a turn down an alley and headed for the end.
Finally they reached it. What she had been leading him towards was a giant mud puddle. The dog skidded to a halt and looked at the puddle, then at Kaimu. She stuck one paw in and if there was a mischevious look on her face it wouldn't be his imagination. What was doggy planning?

| A puddle?
Kaimu looked at the puddle, curious as to what the dog wanted. He could have sworn he'd seen a hint of mischief in it's eyes, but a dog couldn't make expressions like those...could they?

| The man was unaware of the dogs devious plots. Or less devious more trying to show him the wonders of puddles.
Puddles were made to be jumped in. Didn't he understand? With a quick movement, the dog threw herself into the mud puddle. By threw herself, it was more meant it made a quick hop with both sets of legs extended fully to land with maximum splash damage from the mud. The dog also quickly rolled in the mud, fully covering itself before darting out and shaking the mud everywhere. Including Kaimu.

| Reflexively Kaimu shielded his face with his arms as the dog shook itself free of the puddles water.
He let out a sheepish laugh, "So you like mud puddles, huh?" He questioned, moving his arms, the sleeves of his yukata now splattered with dirty water, back to his sides. "I used to play in them when I was a kid, my mother always told me I'd get sick though. Hehe."

| The dog gave what can only be described as a disbelieving look at Kaimu. "relly, u belifed that'
It was dripping and soaked, its pretty white color gone in the messy muddy. It was more gray and goopy than anything else but... she plopped back down in it and rolled over before standing again and looking at Kaimu expectantly. She stamped one foot in the puddle and whined. 'come on its fun'

| 'You're not...'
'Why not?'
'You're not serious?!'
'Why not~?!' With that response, Kaimu grinned before squatting down in front of the puddle before slamming both of his hands down in it, not bothering to roll up his sleeves as the yukata could always be washed.
'A zanpakutou with power such as mine just had to be saddled with a peppy man child...tch.'

| Splishy splashy! The dog hopped around in the puddle, making happy little woofs and splashing about as Kaimu splashed too. Yay fun friend! Splashy puddle friend. Her tail wagged so much it was like a constant rain of wet muddy droplets as she kept rewetting it by her splashes and roll.
Fully soaked and covered in mud, she raced up over to Kaimu, tackling him in a puppy hug and licking his face. Also soaking him with muddy water.
