Tango on the Tightropes (ATTN Kitty Kat)

Maki hadn't been down to Japan in a couple years, so it was nice to see how things changed. Dressed ratber boldly for the usually reserved captain, she wandered to the meeting spot her and Aoi had decided on in town. Town square makes it pretty easy to ask for directions too, and Maki felt she stood out rather well. She wandered lazily in the mid morning air to her destination.

Aoi felt rather nice to be meeting her old Captain here, though it was odd to be coming to the Human world while she was having a day off. She hadn't visited her boyfriend, trying to make sure she focused a lot on necessary things.

She wore a simple outfit, theme blue instead of pink though. Searching for Maki, it was rather easy despite the short stature of the small lieutenant. She waved and called out as she ran over, a big grin on her face. "Hiii! I am here. Did I keep you waiting too long Maki?"

Jammin' a little to her music, the captain didn't hear Aoi, but when she got close the waving got her attention. She smiled at the girl and set her headphones by her neck, electronika blasting through the speakers. She turned the music down and gave the girl a hug, "Not at all, sweetheart, but lets get going. What shops do you want to check out first? I am not particularly familiar with the area."

"I...don't know. You could tell me what you prefer Maki. I think I'd like lots of places, to be honest, but have no idea what would be suitable. Other than food places, but there are a few that could be fun this way..." Aoi giggled, curious about the whole thing they were about to do as she returned the hug. The Captain seemed rather happy and ready to go as well as knowledgeable. She also had music thingies too, which Aoi had seen before but never had actually tried.

Putting her arms behind her body, she stretched them out and started to move towards a small area of shops she had seen before. They seemed to have lots of tiny little ones, its possible it would be fun there.

Following the girl she stated "I haven't eaten yet, let's go somewhere good." She walked close to the girl, if Aoi was listening the elektronica would switch to Europop. Maki definitely had a weird taste in music.

"Somewhere good... Somewhere good..." Aoi hmmed to herself as they passed a few stores. She'd heard good things about the small cafe style places nearby, so when she saw the sign of one she headed it towards it like a fish being reeled in. "Ah, its one of the ones I heard about! Maki, this one should be good. It has sandwiches and soups and stuff, and lots of sweet snacks."

Like sundaes. As the shinigami pushed opened the door, two young women stood there and bowed in maid costumes. "Welcome Mistresses."

Aoi smiled brightly and looked at Maki, a small laugh sounding. "Aaah did you hear that? This place sounds fun."

Maki followed behind the young girl at a quick pace. Once she entered the shop she took her shades off and hooked them to her blouse. She also turned off her music.

"Indeed it does, dear." She turned to the waitresses, "Just Maki, please." she said smiling. The waitresses smiled back, "Right this way mistress Maki." At this, Maki turned to her ex-protoge and shrugged, before following the young girls to their table.

"What can I get you?" the waitress beamed. Maki looked at the menu and up at Aoi, "What's good?"

Aoi just laughed lightly at Maki's shrug, enjoying this entirely too much. As she took her seat, smoothing her skirt behind her, she glanced at the menu. "Hm, I heard their sandwiches and soups were really good,

"I'm Aoi. I'd like... a caramel latte, with extra sugar and can I get three eggsalad sandwiches. A bowl of soup too, whatever is today's special." Aoi waited for it and her smiled widened at the expected response from the waitress. She had glanced at the menu, intending to try something new but she was starving. So for now the soup could be new, as both her and the waitress turned to Maki.

"Yes, Mistress Aoi. For you Mistress Maki, would you desire a minute to think?"

"No no I got it." She assured the woman. "Humdeedum... I'll have a miso soup and annn...Iced Coffee. Ooo, and a strawberry jam sandwich." She handed the menu to the woman. To most people those three Items would not go together at all, but to Maki, whatever.

"Thank you! We'll have your drinks out promtly." The waitress scurried to the den from wince she came. Maki looked at her day date, "So this is the town you're assigned to? Its cute. I like this, "Maid Cake" so far."

Aoi watched Maki order with interest, wondering how that would all taste together. It sounded delicious... The redhead's mouth watered a bit before she got it under control, fast enough to reply to Maki's compliments of her town. "It is really nice! I like the atmosphere, especially at night when everyone is doing things. Its so close to some other cities too."

"Yay, it seems so cute and fun. I should go to these more often on breaks." Aoi nodded her enjoyment, looking around and thinking she should take Rin to one. Did he like maids? "You know a lot about these sorts of places, what other kinds are there Maki?"

"Oh no no no, I don't know a whole bunch about the human world. I'm pretty busy with the school so I don't get to visit it often enough. The only things I'm very privy are some food and some music." Maki looked away with some embarrassment. She didn't like to be unknowledgeable on subjects, especially with her powers. "Any kind of modern phenomena relating to media or shops or stuff you'd have to let me in on."

"Or wait, did you mean other cities, or the things I just said. I may have totally misinterpreted you." Maki bit her lip, turning a bit red.

"Oh, I figured you knew a lot... Well I can help as much as I can! I'm still learning but the people in this city have been really helpful!" Aoi...would get to help her former captain? She could teach her stuff!? Shaking her head, her hands waved in front of her body.

"I meant places like this that we are in right now. Um, I had never been to one either? But it seems like they are at least a bit popular. This city has a few of them spread out. I wanted to see if Ri-if a friend wanted to go with me. I think its mostly guys that go though, to judge by the outfits." Aoi spoke her mind as she glanced around. Her eyes stuck to the cooler full of sweets. "Though it looks like it serves yummy snacks that I would love... B-But if you have questions about things otherwise I can help! I think."

"Anything popular from the last 20 or so years I don't have a clue on, so if you know anything that'd be great!" Maki hasn't eaten anyone in long time besides Setsuna, and Sets wasn't THAT active on the human world either. Maki giggled at Aoi's somewhat flustered looking display as she corrected her.

"This place is definitely appealing. Polite, cute girls. Hopefully good food." Whilst they had been talking she noticed the maid had brought their drinks. She took a sip of her iced coffee and smiled. "The coffee is good at least." She took another deep swig. She noticed her eyeing the food, "That hungry Aoi? or do you just like food?" The captain smirked at the younger girl.

Popular...from the last...twenty years or so... Aoi's brain wracked itself trying to figure out if what she knew. Was the things she had learned about like... squirt guns and pool parties and... books and shows and... movies and such really so interesting and recent things?

"Uh...I found out about movies? And shows... and pool parties! Pizza is yummy too. You probably know about cars..." Aoi felt like the country bumpkin cousin who moved into a big city, while the big city cousin asked about all the things that had changed since they left. Accepting her drink with a nod and a smile, she sipped from it. It would be easier to focus on this part and she nodded. "The coffee is really good, and their outfits are really cute. I should get one. Oh! I am, I eat a lot and I like food too."

"I...could help more with foods than things to do. I've read a few books by authors here." Feeling like a failure as a guide, Aoi looked down and drew mopey circles on the table.

"Any good movies? The last good one I saw was Ben-Hurr." She had been real out of the loop on movies and television. "I'd been wandering around before we met up. I saw a lot of people with little hand-held devices on which they were playing games. What were those?" She might need something like that to distract her from work when she's stressed.

"Don't get too stuck on their outfits, we're going clothes shopping after this~" She watched her protege get a bit mopey at thinking she wasn't doing enough. She put her hand on top of hers, "Now now, I'm having fun. Buck up kiddo."

"I think...depending on what you mean they are video games or cell phones, you can get them easy! I've not tried video games yet, but I think..." Rin has one that can play games or Ruka? Aoi caught herself in time and switched topics to the subject of movies. "I saw some ones that are all animated, I think is the word. The people in my squad keep sending me things to watch and learn so I... Um there was a movie with a man turned into a Llama? It made me laugh."

Shooting Maki a sweet smile in thanks for the reassurance, she nodded after with a bit more of her usual vigor. "Thank you for all your help then! Do you know a lot about clothes?"
