Lakshmi's amused smile became somehow more amused as Kaimu looked back. A mistake... that she would reap the benefits of. Poor precious Masabutt... He was so shocked and terrified, rightfully so.

Kaimu said his goodnight and Mia replied, Lakshmi unable to not respond in a playful tone. "Oh he is not going to be sleeping anytime soon. Thank you, you two~"

That glare made her shiver and tug Kaimu towards the bedroom, maybe she'd not have to sleep on the couch now? That would be a nice change... Either way he was not getting out of this.

Masaru attempted to not pay any mind to Lakshimi's statement as the two disappeared up the stairs, though a flash of shock had crossed his features for a brief moment until Mia's apology.

"I-It's fine." Masaru replied, his face entirely too red at the moment as he glanced off to the side before his eyes returned to Mia. He gave a small, soft smile. "How could I? I trust your's and Lakshimi's word on it...and I'm not going to take your father away from you, nor will I take him from Lakshimi. He's here, his presence should be cherished..."

He could only silently hope that that pardon was approved. Lakshimi had mentioned even Norma on his side, that made...three respectable captains, and a vice captain...

Perhaps Lakshimi's influence would be helpful as well, as she was in blood relation to the previous Soutaichou.

"W-Would you like to...go back to the mansion? If...I don't mind it, and if you'd like you can...get a nice, warm bath there. I can c-change...the blankets..." There was...likely to be a mess now that he thought about it... "If...If you'd like to that is." He added, his hand moving to the back of his neck out of habit.

Masa's words went in one ear and out the other.

Mia stared blankly, still smiling sweetly up the stairs. She did not blink, she did not breathe.

Finally a breath was taken and in the smallest, more horrified voice ever used Mia spoke. "...Take me...to...the mansion...please..."

"R-Right." Masaru nodded, moving a bit closer to the horrified Mia...

Like he had done before, he moved to gather her into his arms like before, and headed towards the door at a quick pace, not...wanting to be here any longer, especially after Lakshimi's final statement.

He shut the door behind him, and secured his hold on her once more before taking off, heading back towards the mansion to head in the same way they'd left. Yes, definitely...get out of there and back home.

Mia curled up in his arms, clinging to Masa tightly. She just stared blankly, trying to keep breathing normally. Deep breaths. Deeep breaths. It was okay. Do not think about Lakshmi's words.

Do not think of the lack of denial on Papa's part.

Just be soothed by Masa's hold and how nice he smelled.

Focus on that...

As he carried her, her breathing steadied out. By the time they would reach the mansion she would be in a much better state.

Masaru landed in his private gardens, the area where they'd left from, so it was a quick trip back into his room. He headed over towards the bed, setting Mia down carefully on the edge before he backed away.

"I can...change the bedding if you'd like to get a bath. I can..get one after and then we can sleep." He explained, offering a small smile. "Perhaps a bath might help too, it's...soothing and such."

Mia felt a lot better by the time she was set carefully on the bed. Blushing just a bit, she nodded and returned Masaru's smile. "A bath...I won't wake anyone up will I?"

"I'm sorry I couldn't respond before but... thank you. I heard what you said, about cherishing and trusting my word... It makes me happy to hear that Masa." Mia tilted her head to the side and smiled warmly, reaching out to touch Masa's cheek with her hand. "I'm sorry for him being so upset over this... He's a bit protective. I'm all he has left and he worries... Well he has Lakshmi now too, and Norma but..."

Its not the same for them.

Masaru shook his head, "You'll be fine, with the doors closed and all it won't be loud at all."

His was the closest room to the baths, and Nozomi's room was a bit away so she wouldn't be disturbed by it, so taking a bath would be fine.

His eyes moved to Mia's hand as it reached his cheek, his smile remaining warm as he gave a small nod against it. "It's alright...I understand, completely. Family's important, it's only natural to be protective."

Mia smiled shyly and looked down. "Okay..."

A bath would be way too nice, she couldn't turn this down. What Masa said was sweet though, unbearably so. He understood the poor protective Kaimu and that made Mia so much happier. He wasn't angry at her father.

"Thank you Masaru for being so kind." Nodding she moved her hand from his cheek, unable to help another shy smile from appearing after that silly nodding against her hand. Reaching down, she brought one of his hands to her mouth and kissed the palm. "I'm going to go bathe now."

Her face turned red as she remembered where that hand had been recently, and blushing up a storm she scurried out of the bedroom towards the baths.

Mia ran off with a blush, and Masaru stood there a moment after she'd run, before moving on to change the bedding. Just...change the bedding, quickly. Ignore any signs of a mess, get nice new bedding on, then everything would be all ready for sleeping.

He'd get a quick bath after Mia, that would be good.

Mia washed herself before entering the tub, her face still beat red no matter what she did. She had thought being alone away from Masaru would help but all she could think of was...

Eeping, Mia's hands went to her face as she soaked in the tub. How come it was really affecting her now? Well that was easy, it was because she had time to think now. There was no worry over the accident, no grumpiness at Papa to distract her...

No Masa around to keep her thinking only of him at that moment... just her own stupid thoughts. He had chosen her to...be...by his side like this...and in his...b-bed...

Her long hair was splayed out behind her outside of the tub so it could hopefully dry a bit after that washing, though Mia's head dunked under the water as she turned red. Was the water boiling around her face or was that just air bubbled from the loud squeaking she was doing?

Masaru let out a breath once the bedding was changed, new, clean sheets and blankets in stuff on the bed while the dirty ones were in a nearby pile. He could...

Right, with a nod, he moved to gather the dirty ones and quickly went to put them away to be washed later.

He was...still in disbelief almost that....this was all even happening. He'd...and he didn't even feel that bad for breaking the rule?....Why not? Was it because they were happy? ...

He'd been shocked, extremely shocked and had felt panicked at first, but now that things had been fixed and...the shock had gone away...

With a red face, Masaru shook his head and made his way back to the bedroom, moving to set the pillows back on the bed.

Almost falling asleep in the bath was a bad idea, so Mia didn't spend too much time being an embarrassed wreck. Well she spent the whole time she had being so, just that she didn't allow herself time to wallow.

He had wanted her to stay here, his question earlier having been a request less than an offer even if the man hadn't realized it himself. It wasn't as if she hadn't wanted to stay anyways...

Drying her body and hair off as much as was possible, she slipped the gown she had been wearing back on. Taking a comb to her long hair, she started at the ends as she walked back to his room. It wasn't a far walk, just a short ways down...

Sliding the door to his room open, Mia yawned as she resumed combing the damp locks hanging limply from her head. She was used to this, but her sleepy eyes lit up as she saw Masaru again. A happy smile gracing her face, she moved to his side like a magnet. "You can bathe now, sorry for taking so long... Thank you for changing the bedding Masa."

Masaru returned Mia's smile with a soft one of his own, "It wasn't a problem, and it's alright; you could have taken longer if you'd wanted, Mia."

He brought a hand up to her hair, lightly petting it before he gave a breath. "I won't be very long with mine, so I'll be back quickly. You can go ahead and get to bed, and get some nice sleep."

"I would have fallen asleep if I did..." Mia admitted, having wanted a longer bath but being unable to. The warmth was too much, it had made her unbearably drowsy and she still needed to finish her combing before sleep. Leaning against Masa's hand as he briefly petted her head, she smiled softly up at him.

"Take as long as you want, I'll be here when you get back I promise. I-If you hadn't asked... me to..stay...I might have asked if I could..." Teasing lightly, she turned red and looked to the side after admitting that.

"Mhmm, I'll be back in a bit." He replied, stepping back from Mia before giving her another smile. "I...ha...I wasn't sure earlier if you'd...wanted to stay, but...I was happy when you said you would."

He had a light tint to his cheeks, definitely not as severe as the blushing he'd done today. He was happy though, that Mia claimed she wanted to stay.

"I'll be back in a little bit." He added, finally moving to the door to head out and get to the baths.

Mia couldn't say anything that wouldn't turn them both into flustered messes so she just gave him her warmest smile and nodded. Watching him go, she finally turned to the bed once Masaru was on his way to the baths.

Crawling onto it, she moved towards the middle but became unsure. Where...did she lay? Right here? Or was it more to the side? Growing a bit nervous, she crawled under the covers of the new bedding that was definitely not the old bedding they had... not...

Turning bright red, Mia finished combing her hair finally and spread it out so it could dry as she laid down. Curling up on her side, she faced the edge of the bed with her face towards the door on one side. Masa wasn't here so she'd...wait...

Fighting sleep and failing miserably, Mia tried to keep her eyes open but soon drifted off in his comfy bed.

As he promised, when he reached the baths he made sure to make it quick, he rarely took long baths anyway. He didn't want to stay in here long in the first place, considering how late it was. Sleep would be good, a goodnight's sleep after...everything.

Ignoring the tint igniting his cheeks he quickly went to finishing up his bath.

Once he was done he headed back towards his bedroom, sliding the door shut behind him to see Mia sleeping. He had a small smile on his face as he moved to his closet, having forgotten to bring sleeping robes with him so he'd just put his own yukata back on.

He changed quickly, and moved to the bed, sliding in, under the covers next to Mia.

Mia slept through Masaru's return, only waking when she felt the bed move. It wasn't something she was used to, her eyes opening a bit as she let a sleepy little mumble sound. She hadn't been asleep long enough to forgot where she was or anything, knowing that it was Masaru's bed and he must be back.

Moving her body back against his, she snuggled right up as best she could. Her voice was quiet and sleepy but she smiled even if he couldn't see her face. "Sleep well Masa..."

She drifted back off immediately after, unable to stay awake after all that had happened. She was drained in almost every way at this point...

Upon feeling Mia cuddle up against him, he moved so it would be more comfortable for them both, his arm going over her as she bid him goodnight.

"Night, Mia; you sleep well too..." Masaru replied, a smile on his own face before he closed his eyes to drift off to sleep himself.

A large spread out wave of jet black hair covered most of the bed, leading to the head of a woman curled up around a man with just as dark hair. It had dried in her sleep but drying as it had had left the poor strands all poofy and it covered the bed and its occupants.

The occupants being Mia, who's arms and chest and body were curled around the other, Masaru. His head buried against her chest in sleep, Mia's leg curled around his own chest and body. She snuggled and clung to him like a large sleepy cat who didn't want to move.

Mia really didn't want to move. But there as an insistent part of her that pushed her towards waking. That and the warm light that filtered into this room from outside. Light... day? She yawned softly against Masa's head before nuzzling it sleepily.

"Masa...smells so good..." She smiled and relaxed, mostly asleep still but moving towards waking up.

Upon morning's arrival, Masaru couldn't find it in himself to wake up as he usually did, the process of doing so being much slower than usual. He felt a warmth around him, and stirred slightly as he felt the warmth move against him, feeling the sensation of his head being nuzzled.

"M-Mn..."

M-Mia? He heard her voice, saying something about him...smelling nice?

If he weren't still mostly asleep, he likely would have reacted to that, but instead his hold around her waist secured some as he gave another unintelligible mutter.

Mia apparently understood his unintelligible mutter, murmuring back a bit in a soothing tone. Her sleepy smile grew as she felt him hold her a bit tighter.

She was waking much faster than normal, the good sleep she had gotten and for so long allowing her to just bypass most of her utterly silly not awake things. Instead she woke up wrapped around Masa very slowly, just smiling and happy. She didn't feel embarrassed in the least about their position for now, it felt comfortable and Masa was warm and comfy. Her voice was quiet as she asked, "Mm...awake yet Masa?"

"Nn...getting there..." Masaru muttered after a moment of silence to Mia's response.

He was coming out of his daze, slowly but surely. Opening his eyes wasn't something he wanted to do quite yet, it still felt good to keep them closed. He usually woke up rather quickly, but due to having gone to bed so late he was left with the desire to just stay in bed a bit longer.

Masa the sleepy one and her the awake one? Such an odd turnabout. Instead of trying to wake him up, Mia gently ran her fingers through his hair. She had gotten a nap at least before sleeping, so she was fully rested. Having no idea of the time, she didn't particularly care right now if it was late or not. "Mmkay."
