"Um... Lets see. Lakshmi and Aoi? Both of them have called you it before when I was talking to them." Mia's head tilted more, her face getting closer as she examined his forced smile. Her finger went to his lips, something starting to click in her head. Lakshmi and Aoi...Masa's reaction... Maybe this...was something he didn't like...

"That...They use that as a form of...teasing, really..." Masaru answering, his hand just itching to move to his neck. "It's one of those...embarrassing nicknames that started when I young, though somehow it's...started getting around more..."

Setsuna had started it, then decades later he started hearing it from Lakshmi and Aoi....

"...Oh!" Mia felt so bad now! Of...course it would be an embarrassing nickname. Moving back a bit, she gave a sheepish laugh and reached up to play with her hair. Eyes were on the keys of the piano, a dark blush on her face...

"I-I'm sorry Masa. I won't call you it again. I'll tell them not to too when they talk to me!" She felt...so bad... It had...bothered him when she was just trying to put him at ease! Utter...utter failure.

"I-It's alright, you had no way of knowing...T-Thank you, though, Mia." Masaru replied, offering her a real, hopefully reassuring smile as she backed away. "You don't need to worry...Hm...Here..."

In case she was still worried about upsetting him, he decided to move to a distraction tactic in case his words hadn't entirely helped. Fixing his posture, he played a short tune, his fingers moving over the keys of the piano in a much more elegant manner than they had before.

When the tune ended, and it faded, he looked up to her and gave another smile.

"Welcome..." The smile did help, her blush fading a bit in its warmth. Mia nodded, her smile returning to something warm and real itself. Masa could reassure her rather easily, and as he started playing she closed her eyes and smiled more.

She had to open them back up quickly though, to see him playing the piano itself and as Masaru finished, she clapped happily. "You looked like a...an artist! Your fingers move so elegantly... And the song was pretty."

Mia's eyes shone in just a bit of awe at him, adoring that musical gift of his it seemed.

Masaru gave a small laugh at her compliment, the only response he could give that wouldn't show how much it meant to hear that. That slight tint had returned, one like he had earlier when she'd complimented his cooking.

He was happy she'd liked his playing. It'd been a short tune, but...

"I'm happy to hear that."

Noticing the slight tint and the happy laugh, she realized her words might have him flustered. Still she had meant them! But Mia didn't want to make him so flustered... She just wanted him to know how it had seemed to her. Nodding at his words encouragingly... she moved back closer and leaned down to kiss his forehead.

"Play another please? Longer, so I can watch you?" Mia's smile was warm and her tone pleading, holding her hands in front of her as she requested this of him.

Masaru gave a nod at her request, "I'd be glad to."

Saying that, he began playing again, playing something longer like she'd asked. He seemed relaxed as he'd played, but focused. His fingers moved along the keys much like they had before, something that, after decades and decades of practice, came easy to him.

It was a longer piece, so Mia eventually got the hang of it and hummed along at parts. She was so extremely happy, so relaxed as well. Her arms weren't wrapped around her in worry, she was standing straight and her eyes stared between Masaru's relaxed and focused features and his nice hands.

The music itself...was just as gorgeous as Masa right now. Closing her eyes, she sighed in a pleased manner and just murmured. "Gorgeous..."

Music was soothing to her, it made her feel at home... and to hear such music live with Masaru the one playing? She felt calm, utterly calm and...rather ensnared in the music itself, trapped by Masa's playing.

Masaru glanced over to Mia at her comment as he continued playing, and he smiled at her again, a soft one, before his attention went back to the keys. The piece carried on for a bit longer, before it came to an end, the last note fading away into silence.

"It makes me really happy to hear how much you like it, Mia." He said, having been unable to properly respond earlier.

Mia felt free once the notes died down, a soft smile on her face as she looked over at Masa again now that her eyes could open. It quickly grew into a happy one, a soft sigh escaping her as she nodded a bit shyly. "I could listen all day... I am glad it makes you happy, my enjoyment... But I should just thank you for letting me hear you play. I-Its so pretty! and... You look so..."

Mia turned red. How did she tell him that gorgeous was for more than the music? Both of them combined...

Masaru's smile was bright as Mia spoke, again, he was happy she'd enjoyed his playing so much. He had a nice time when he did play, it was nice and relaxing, so hearing Mia enjoyed it made it seem nicer.

As she trailed off though, he tilted his head slightly, a curious look on his face.

Mia was flustered again, her hands holding and twirling the strands of her hair as she looked to the side after seeing that curious look and head tilt. She...couldn't keep anything from him...

Blurting out, her face a tint of red on it, she closed her eyes. "G-Gorgeous! So..focused...and relaxed and...you have...really nice hands, I never noticed before... how...much so..."

This time, it was Masaru's turn to become red in the face, fluster taking over as he momentarily averted his eyes.

"Y-You think...think that?" He asked; it...it was difficult to keep eye contact, but, after a few failed attempts to do so he finally managed...though Mia's eyes were closed. She...She seemed just as flustered, though...he could understand...it wasn't easy saying...saying stuff like that.

While he was flustered himself, he pulled himself to his feet, stepping closer to Mia before leaning slightly to give a small kiss on her head before pulling back, a sheepish, but happy smile on his face.

"Mm...I do...I really...d-Eep!" Mia was surprised, her eyes shut tightly as she spoke. It was the only way to speak this! Masa though... he kissed her head. Her eyes shot open as he moved back a bit, her head tilting up to look at him. She shook very lightly, but Masa's voice had been as nervous as hers.

His happy smile coaxed one out of her as she continued speaking, very softly in almost a whisper. "Y-You are normally...but...when you were playing it...was just...magnificent and it just...I don't know how to describe it but...more gorgeous. Playing music...suits you perfectly Masaru. I've never seen you like that before..."

Both of them flustered...nervous messes... but she had spoken her mind.

Masaru didn't think his face was going to stop burning anytime soon, especially as Mia continued speaking. She...She really thought that, and thought music suited him...suited him perfectly...

"I-I see...I-I'm, I'm repeating myself but...but it makes me...really happy to hear that, t-truly." He replied, "I-I...I don't think that's properly describing that...that happiness but...g-g-getting to see how happy my playing made you and how...how much you enjoyed it..."

Mia nodded, she...understood his words. Masaru was in the same state she was... But he was so happy she was so happy and enjoyed it so much. She would be the same in his place. Ecstatic... Someone who loved the music they made as much as they did...

Moving forward, she pressed herself against him in a hug, her hands holding the edge of his yukata tightly. Her face settled against his scar, still burning red but wanting his soothing touch. "I-I...think I understand. M-Maybe not a lot...but a bit. You look so happy so...I'd be blind to not see how happy you are..."

As Mia moved closer, hugging him, his arms wrapped around her to return the embrace. His hold was secure as she spoke, and he held her close to him as he placed another kiss on her head, smiling against her hair for a moment before lifting his head slightly.

"Mhmm, I-I'm really happy."

The kiss on the head got an eep out of her, so did the smile... She felt that one...

"I do that...don't I?" Mia's voice was awed, she...knew it. It was obvious to anyone with half a brain... and while she was was dense...she was observant. She watched others...

Masa was always smiling around her. Always...even now... Especially now... Her voice was still awed, just a bit shocked as she realized what this really meant. Just how happy she made him... It was an amazing thing to realize for someone who had never had connections before. She laughed very softly and snuggled against him more. "Y-You do the same for me..."

"Mhmm...Y-You do." Masaru replied, one hand moving up to her head as she snuggled closer against him, and as she claimed he did the same for her he leaned his head down a bit again, nuzzling her head slightly before giving another kiss, smiling against her head as he gave her a small squeeze in his embrace.

Mia just laughed softly as Masa confirmed it, a happy laugh. A bit disbelieving. She nuzzled his chest a bit before Masa started nuzzling her himself...another kiss and a squeeze making her giggle happily again.

"I would like to hear you play again...but could I sit next to you this time?" Mia asked softly, pleased with this holding and not wanting it to end once he went back to playing. A silly thought crossed her might, that she could just...sit on his lap...but that would make playing hard! She blushed again.

"You can, I don't mind." Masaru replied; the seat was big enough for two people if they sat close, and really...he felt he should have asked her to sit to begin with now that he thought about it...

But yes, sitting with him wouldn't be a problem.

Mia nodded into his chest, another happy laugh sounding. "I won't get in your way? Y-You can play all you want, I'll listen. Its...really nice listening to you."

She had not moved to pull away, still snuggled right up to Masa but...with great reluctance she moved just a bit backwards. Just a tiny little bit, she wanted to stay against this nice smelling man. He felt...safe.

"You won't be in my way at all, it's not a problem." Masaru replied, looking down at Mia as she leaned back just slightly.

After a moment, he took a step back, guiding Mia with him since he hadn't let go yet as he sat back down, moving over enough for Mia to sit down as well. "We can both fit, see?"

"Okay!" Masa's one reassurance was all she need. Still, his...cute motion to pull her back had her blushing fully once more, her body following him as he sat. She smiled as he did, following him and sitting next to him as he made room. Her head laid against his shoulder for a moment, her hand reaching up to twine her fingers in his for just a moment. "I see that now. My...butt isn't...that big..."

Maybe...that had been part of the problem.
