Fay growled under her breath, arms crossed, facing away from the customer in front of her. He'd finished cashing out already, but he seemed... rather insistent on lingering around, asking any number of insipid questions. How long had she liked manga, what was her favorite, who was her favorite author, did she play games, what kind of games, did she have a favorite game, who was her favorite character, has she dressed as any of them, did she have a website?

It was only her first week, but she'd gotten one warning already for... customer hostility. She was just fortunate that the customer she'd thrown (literally) out of the store had... apparently come back every day since trying to see her again. She wasn't the only one who had to put up with this nonsense, but the other girls were more used to it and seemed to lack Fay's general misanthropy.

She finally thrust his bag forcefully to his midsection. "I have another customer sir." She said flatly. He looked around behind him at the mostly empty store. It was just after the lunch rush on a sunday and the place was dead.

"Sir, please don't hold up the line." She repeated, a fake smile plastered on her face as she politely waved towards the door with both hands. He looked at her strangely then... walked towards the door.

The wooorst.... Ugh...

Selena bumped into someone as he left, an odd look that made her glare at her iciest and send him scurrying. It was her 'I will shove my boot so far up your ass if you don't go away the water on my knee will quench your thirst' glare, patent pending.

She wasn't wearing sunglasses or a hat today, it was a perfectly normal day trip to Japan using her newly found ability to Luca portal around. Instead her orange hair was pulled up in a loose ponytail, and she wore a tight white camisole that showed off her cleavage to its best degree. A pair of tight capris, dark purple in color rounded out the image along with a pair of rather sensible sandals. She didn't need heels today, she was just wandering around really...

Under her arm was a nice little purse and she yawned a bit as the cold air of the store flushed out the dying summer heat. Giving the woman at the counter a nod, she moved over to it and then did a double take. Oh spirits did they really have her dressed up? Those ears...that that... maid outfit...

She tried to hold in her amused smile and failed as she then began speaking. Her tone was one of infinite amusement. "Can you help me out, Miss Kitty Maid? I'm looking for some things and don't really want to scour the aisles."

Selena would be here forever if she tried just looking looking...

Fay was about to go trudge into the back to shelve more manga, which really was nuts. They made her wear this ridiculous costume and then she had to do work in it? She supposed it was a little more restricting than what most of the girls wore... or what they wanted her to wear... it was pretty clear how they drummed up business.... She had been determined not to be a part of it. That was before she'd heard people talking about the cat maid... now she was wondering if the others didn't have the right idea going slutty over cute.

She peered up at the woman in front of her and blinked a few times. About as many women as men came in and it wasn't even the first attractive woman who walked in but... Jeez louise... "ah.. Yes I can, ma'am. I know the store like the back of my hand!" She had broke in after hours to familiarize herself with the place after all, so she knew it QUITE well by now.

"What are you looking for?" She asked with a pleasant smile, still wondering behind the polite mask what a woman like that was in here manga browsing for.

Selena recognized that look and gave a slow pleased smile and a nod to show she had noticed. The girl was too cute for her and after Hibiki...she wasn't really looking for more fun. Her frown didn't falter but a bit of hesitance appeared in her purple eyes briefly before she nodded in response to the question this time.

"Well you see I need the shittiest porn manga you have, but it also needs to have... Mmm story. Maybe a story that is sex focused but not like outright porn. Like...say romance novels aimed at females where there IS explicit sex in it, but they don't caaaalll it porn. That's what I am looking for, but I want it to be shitty and trashy please." Selena smiled after her speech, her hand waving as she leaned forward onto the counter and enunciating her words.

Fay blinked a few times in response, staring at her... A woman like that... came in... and wanted smut. "Uh.." She immediately thought of Riye. No worries imaginary Riye, I am loyal good girlfriend. I am just a little distracted by the caricature personification of sexy that came in looking for porn. Your sweetie is safe. She nodded. She'd needed to tell herself that.

"Um.. Y-yes... We have... a few things like that.." She blushed, realizing that... she already had a few titles in mind... She hopped over the counter, another thing she wasn't supposed to do, really. And headed up the stairs to the second floor, which from the counter appeared as a balcony, despite its floor size. In the back, past a sign and a little playful caution tape gateway was the smut section. It was, of course, pretty sizeable.

She headed over towards the stuff she was looking for, passing some more outright smut before getting to it. "These are...." she lifted her fingers in the air and did a quote symbol, "'romantic drama' books." She knelt down and pulled a few out. "These have pretty charming stories that pretty much devolve into people screwing for no real reason." She looked aside, clearing her throat.

"Uhh.. There's a variety here. Some are more serious, one is a murder investigation, this one is ah... two girls.... this one's a soap opera-y affair..." She handed Selena a stack of them and badly wished that Selena would.... sneeze and collapse into a gross little otaku or something.

Selena allowed the woman her looks and staring, trying not to smirk. Aaah this girl liked girls quite a bit didn't she? How adorably sweet~ She'd tone it down a bit then, no need to bother her while she was working. They had stuff like that? Good! "Ah, you are amazing thank you. I would be so lost, I have enough knowledge of the language for speaking and enough to get by on reading but...organizational sometimes throws me off. Sometimes I miss obvious puns as well."

The young woman was athletic and Selena appreciated the little hop with a grin, following up the stairs with just a pleased aura. This girl knew what she was doing, ah if she could tip her she would and not just for the cute outfit. It had to be annoying she bet, men would go gaga over a sweetheart in ears.

Selena was having such nice and naughty thoughts that she didn't notice the caution tape entrance, coming out of it just as soon as the worker's voice came to her. Selena snickered a bit and nodded. "Perfect. Actually, I wanna change my request a bit. You know what you are doing so if there are any actual good ones in here too? I'll pretty much take anything at the moment, I have a bit of a prank I'm pulling on someone..."

She accepted the stack with a smile, a bit less strong in the charm and more honest. "Murder investigation huh? How in the hell did they get the sex into that one? The two girls one sounds sweet at least. Maybe I'll keep that one..."

Fay glanced sideways at Selena. She... got that feeling... similar to the ones she got from the Otaku. Geez... even gorgeous people seemed to like the kitty maid. Definitely would tell the boss she'd wear something smutty from now on. No wonder they'd kept giggling when she agreed to this. "I.. I do my best." She said with a polite smile. The smile dropped into a look of more genuine interest. She wasn't a native Japanese speaker? Okay, well look at her, of course she wasn't... where was she from then...

She nodded, darting off and coming back with a few higher production value books, some better written, some with more... enticing smut, be it better character designs or more tastefully alluring scenes. "A-ah.. You.." She was about to, relieved, repeat it was for a prank when Selena mentioned keeping the girl girl one. "Eh?!" She made a small noise of surprise at that, before shaking her head decided to bring up something else altogether.

"So, you're not a native Japanese speaker? Where are you from? Judging by your appearance somewhere west, maybe Europe? Umm.. Italian maybe?" As she spoke, she switched between russian, french, english, then italian.

Selena just nodded, the polite smile telling all she wanted. She'd had enough fun looking and watching for now, it was time for business or well...just more innocent fun! It'd be nice to just talk to this woman about things, she hadn't really had a not sex charged topic with anyone in a while...

It could be nice. Well sex charged in that she wanted them, this woman was firmly in the adorable cosplay but not touchies department. She looked down at the offered titles while the woman ran off, wondering what kinds of things she was going to be getting.

With the new books added to the stack in her arms already, Selena shot the dark blue haired woman a bright smile. It was thankful, nothing more, as all of those airs finally melted away. The squeak made her laugh a little and shake her head, but the worker wanted to talk of her home so...

Selena grinned a bit and responded in English, before following up in french and a bit of italian. Her italian was a bit accented frenchwise though. "Aaaah~ I am french, but I live in Canada. You look a bit exotic for Japan yourself, from whereabouts are you then?"

This was rather exciting, her purple eyes pleased as she almost forgot about the smut she was holding.

Fay noticed something... different when she came back. Selena remained as beautiful as ever, but her eyes seemed a little... less piercing. More... She wasn't sure what... warm, but not fiery... like... uhhh... friendly? She blushed a little, for different reasons than before. She nodded while Selena explained where she was from. Her face brightened some. "I'm from France too! I was orphaned there!" She said a little too excitedly before growing a bit sullen. "Um... I mean... I think... I was left at a cathedral..." She shrugged.

She glanced back up at Selena and smiled. "Uh! I... I have a girlfriend!" She said rather... proclaiming. She... just felt.. it was important to say that.. "I... dunno why I said that. Heh.." She moved her hair out of her face but... she felt better saying it. She didn't know what this woman was all about but now she at least knew where the Kitty maid stood.

The blush was cute and Selena wondered why she was doing so before surprise showed across her features. It quickly faded into a small soft smile and gentle look as she continued to speak french, her arms shifting the books as she wished to pat the young woman's head a bit at those words. "Ah! Really? I'm so sorry. I...my parents are dead, but I was raised with family there."

She wanted to badly to just patpat the girl, a frown on her lips that was replaced by amused shock as laughter chased away those thoughts. "Ahaha, I see! Well I have two...boyfriends who I adore to death. Are you happy with her then?"

Selena was a bit interested now and leaned against the shelf lightly, a pleasant and curious smile on her face. How cuuute~ She had a girlfriend and Selena understood rather well why she had spoken that, so it'd be best to reassure her she wasn't after her adorable booty.

Fay frowned upon hearing that they had that particular thing in common. She received her head pat and glanced around, unsure of how to proceed before returning the head pat in kind. "I'm sorry. That's awful..." she said with a sad frown. She felt sympathy for the woman and some small understanding, though she knew it was different. Fay had no parents to grieve, whereas Selena had had them and lost them.

She just sort of... blinked at Selena's statement though... T..Two boyfriends? Was she... But.. What about... Whaaat? Still, as confused as she was, Selena seemed not at all disappointed to hear Fay was taken and hearing the same about Selena, something sort of... she just... felt at ease suddenly... "Uh.. Y..Yeah.. I'm..." She blushed again, another weird blush that was nothing like the ones Riye got from her. "She makes me really...REALLY happy.." she said softly.

"Um.. How does... having two boyfriends work...?" There was no judgement in her tone. Just genuine curiosity.

"Hah, thank you. It's really all right, I was little." Selena gave a small smile and nodded in her thanks, appreciating the sympathy but not really sure how to deal with it. Normally she'd brush it off and ignore it but well Fay had something similar, she wasn't sure how to make her feel a bit better.

Fay's confusion was amusing though and Selena held in her laughter with only a bit of effort, giving another nod. "Aww how sweet. I'm happy for you, is that why you blushed over the lesbian one you offered?"

Normally she might feel odd saying such things, but lately she'd felt a bit...kinder and Fay being from france and also an orphan...immediate endearment. Which was why when she was asked, Selena thought for a moment and then replied. "Well its complicated and sometimes hard... They both know and are fine with it, and considering I love both of them to death it works out overall. Details of how it works out a kind of a bit too much to share on a first meeting though."

Her words implied just...how it worked out... was not so innocent.

"Mmm." She respected that it was all right. But she still felt like she should be solemn on the matter. Selena and her parents deserved that respect at least. However, she hardly had time to remain solemn. Selena was proving to be an intriguing font of all sorts of things that seemed terrifying and worldly to Fay in ways she'd never become.

"Th-th-th-that's okay! I'm not asking those kinds of details!" She protested with a wave of her hands. "I guess that's... an unusual situation, but if the three of you are happy... It sounds like some sort of harime situation to me." She said, crossing her arms. "But those tend to turn out pretty sweetly? So... I guess congrats." Y-yes... congratulations on the... harem.

"But um.. y-yeah.. That book..." She supposed she should come back to that... "I-I mean... It's... I'm.." She huffed and turned to face the side, away from Selena. "I mean, it's not like I'm a lesbian." She said rather decidedly.

Selena gave a soft breath, pleased the young woman wouldn't want to ask...though how old was she? Selena felt like the much older friend type protecting the innocent one despite her relative age.

Still she was smiling, even if it was a small one as she listened before it grew into a wide grin. Selena laughed for a bit, nodding. "It really does! Would you believe me if I said there were three before one dumped me? He found someone else he could be happier with. Thank you for the congratulations at least. Hopefully neither of these two will think its too much hassle~"

"I'm Selena, by the way. Selena Archiagott. I'm sorry if I offended you, do you like men as well then? Its not like I am immune to women's charms either." Polite, she wasn't put off by Fay's reaction. It was too fascinating to meet a fellow frenchwoman! Or well she could be anything really, but she was FROM France! Thats what mattered!

She would not believe it! How could anyone dump her? Okay... Well there was the whole... Two other guys thing. Maybe he wasn't happy being one of three? Still, especially for uh... What most people tended to look for in a woman, Selena was perfect. "Well if they don't think it's worth the hassle, they're hardly worth the time, right?" She asked, proud of herself for such a particularly sassy zinger.

"Fay..." She didn't have a last name to speak of..... "Smith." She said. It was what she put on her application anyway and what her ID said, but it wasn't a name to her. "And... I.. I mean I haven't MET a guy I like... But... Um... But... A lesbian is someone who has sex with women, yeah! And I only have kissed and cuddled with one woman, so..." She crossed her arms triumphantly, contrary to the blush on her face. "Not a lesbian." She declared, looking away.

"Exactly!" Selena said that with more enthusiasm than she felt and it showed a bit in her eyes. Being dumped like that had left her a bit more vulnerable though she wasn't disliking it. Luca and Julian weren't at least, they enjoyed her relying a bit more on them it seemed.

Fay's words though did cause a bit of a larger and more genuine smile to appear at least, introductions were nice and it wasn't often she didn't meet someone when she wouldn't want to screw them. This was a bit soothing in a way... "Fay is a pretty name... But um I hate to break this to you."

Selena paused and lifted a finger, her mouth opening before it closed again as if she was thinking this over... and then opened it and spoke finally. "That's not what a lesbian is, entirely. They feel attraction to women only... Kissing and cuddling a woman and only wanting them kind of...makes you one? My wording is kind of shot but, that is the term."

She hated to burst the cute bubble but really being a lesbian wasn't bad at all!

Fay's lips turned up ever so slightly at the corners, giving the slightest of giggles. Yes. She could at least see the logic behind three boyfriends. Whereas one had decided to be a dumb, she now had two more to comfort her. Really it just seemed like proper planning to her... not that she could ever do that. Riye was already more than her poor heart could handle.

"Th...Thank you?" Her name was pretty but bad news to follow. Nobody ever just complimented her name and let that be the end of it. "Wh..What?!" her face immediately lit up in a blush and she turned, finding the nearest thing on the wall that needed immediate investigation, crossing her arms as well. You know, so it wouldn't be mistaken for panicking. "Th-Th-That's not... I mean... Just the... I..." She kept trying to say Riye was the only woman she was attracted to... and that was true.... for women she KNEW.... Her long list of Vidya and Celebrity crushes.....

She sunk in defeat, tightening the hold her arms had on herself. "I... I just..." She growled a little under her breath, pouting. She didn't even know how to phrase her opinion on the matter, which was mostly that she still hadn't come to grips with having a sexuality, much less having a sexual orientation...

Selena wanted to say welcome but really Fay had immediately reacted in an odd manner. Blushing and turning when broken logic was pointed out was not the usual response, she kind of expected more anger. Waiting for the woman to finish, Selena moved closer and set her hand on her shoulder gently and patted. "There there. Its all right, but there really isn't a problem with it. At least as far as I am concerned... I rather wish for more squish in my harem, or well former harem, myself~"

She was teasing but she backed away as she said it so Fay didn't think her asking for that of her. She was merely joking, even if the part about squish was true... in an odd way. She wouldn't want anyone else right now though...

She turned her head a little when the hand rested on her shoulder, stiffening a bit. She was.. It was just... an awkward subject... She had always been sort of... sensitive about the term... It wasn't like she had a problem with it, just... She didn't...

"Mmmmm.." she groaned, her arms sliding down to hold her stomach, less defiantly crossed. She guessed it was silly to be with Riye and NOT consider herself... th-that... Especially because she KNEW that there hadn't been any men she'd liked... and while she didn't let herself get attached to real people... there'd been more than enough characters in things...

"W-wait... s-squish?" Was that... how she referred to it? "H-harem?" She didn't sound distraught just... she'd never.. heard that sort of terminology used by a real person before. "Wh... What kind of life do you lead?" She asked, incredulous. Her tone held no sense of judgement. In fact, it seemed to have the tiniest bit of wonder behind it.

Fay stiffened and Selena dropped her hand, especially now that the woman was loosening up it seemed. No more silly defiance over something that didn't matter really, though the fact that she was upset over it showed it did matter a bit at least... to her.

Waiting for things to be worked out in the woman's head, Selena startled at the question before giving a slow nod.

"I live my own damn life. Its kind of odd, I'll admit." The quincy blushed just a bit, her hand coming up to push glasses up her nose in a bit of a nervous habit. "It's just...it got more odd the past few months is all. Sheesh, I'm sort of glad he dumped me since now I have less to worry over and have it be weird in my life. Also is there somewhere I can set these? Kinda heavy really."

Fay bit the inside of her lip. Selena had gotten defensive. Not angrily so, but she had mistaken Fay's intent. "N-no, I'm sorry! It... I wasn't... trying to offend you. I.. Think it's amazing! I mean... Everyone's personal lives are so boring. You have... a frigging harem. That's the coolest." It really was. Between her appearance, her love life... Selena seemed like she had walked straight out of one of those shitty manga she was buying.

"Here, I'll carry those!" She reached out and took them, barely noticing the weight. "It is my job, after all. Speaking of which, is there any other books you need?" She said with the smallest bit of pride, that only came with somebody's first weeks of work.

"I wasn't offended, it was just an adjectival emphasis using a swear word. Whoops." Well Selena messed that one up! Make sure to emphasis the right thing next time! Still she continued to ignore the slight blush on her features, normally she would just accept such words as her due but...really such a weird ass situation was a bit worrying. "Hah, thank you at least. My harem is kind of more polygamy at this point though so I should stop calling it that."

"Thaaanks!" Handing over the books with a grin, Selena shook her head after a moment. "I think I have everything I need for the moment, I can't find manga like these in Canada at all. Unless you have other suggestions?"

If Fay had more she'd definitely listen. That poor pride...she hoped the woman kept it. For her sake.

"Ahh... So it started as a harem, but now you've come to love them? Sounds like a real Tenchi sort of situation." She said with a smile. She was glad though. In years past she might have offered happy congratulations, ignoring her own loneliness... but.. she wasn't alone... and she was all the happier that Selena wasn't either. "I'm glad though. You found happiness by your own standards and that's all that matters!" Sure, most people, especially in the western world would think her situation strange, but Fay had seen far too many strange things to count this among them.

"Hmm.. Depends on what else you'd be looking for? If it's more crappy smut for your prank... I could ask some of the other girls here... they've had some weird customers... If it's more legitimate manga interests I have some recommendations." She knew... one or two genune quality smut manga she could... probably recommend too... "It just depends on what you're looking for!"

"Ahah not actually. It became a harem cause I loved em. I really just started having sex with one regularly, which was abnormal for me... and then I found this cute almost dandere violinist. He's teaching me how to play a bit better, but I also had sex with him~ I didn't want to give up the first one, he was too much fun and made me smile but he slept around too? So..." Selena laughed, deciding to explain a bit more since Fay seemed a bit entranced with it. "The former third one well he lives here in Japan. I am...thankful you seem to think so. People get so annoyed when I tell them! I'm not bragging sheesh, I care about them all and they are fine with it."

"I'll take the latter, I have enough to fuck with him now~ Some decent ones would be nice." Giving a nod, she grinned as she leaned back and crossed her arms. "I'm interested in a loot of things."

"Ahh.. I.. I see.." She... wow... a lot of her meaningful relationships... seemed to start with sex... As an area Fay still knew.... basically nothing about, she just... "Wow..." She repeated, this time out loud. "I guess you have... a lot of love to give." It's what it sounded like... a lot of love to give and no prior conception of how relationships were supposed to be handled. "I've never... well.."

"H-Hey, I have a few manga to show you!" She said, quick to escape where that sentence had been heading. She held the books in one hand as she trotted down the steps and rounded a corner, picking up an adorable manga with sweet romances and friendships and whatnot. "H-here! I'm enjoying this one a lot right now." She said, holding out the first volume for Selena to look through. "I don't know if you like that kind of thing, but... It's very ... happy and positive.." She said with another little nod.
