Day Trip [Open]

A small breath escaped Luca as he sat outside a small cafe within the Human World. There was tea sitting at his side, along with a few chocolate cookies he'd been snacking on.

The case holding his violin was set down at his side near his leg, not wanting to be pushed for space on the small-ish table.

He had come here for research mostly, thus the shopping bag next to his violin case. It was full of heavy medical texts, along with another full of music scores.

Yesterday, he'd been in Italy looking for the same, and had found a couple of things, but he'd come here as well...as it was important to see various sources.

As much as Alexander would like to deny, trips to the Human World were at times a necessity. After all, the Captain needed to maintain his energy during times of extreme research, and sweet confectioneries certainly kept his mind alert and his energy levels high. Now whether that was actually true if you asked anybody else, that's another story, but regardless, the raven haired man had made his short trip to this realm in order to gather some of Japan's finest. He couldn't rely on his new friend Miss Nezo to supply him with treats all the time.

Casually and calmy, the captain walked the streets until his senses easily caught another spiritual presence sitting nearby, captain class from the feel of it. Of course, how could someone like him miss it? Gigais could not fool his honed senses. He immediately honed in on the other person and began walking towards him. A hollow, but this one seemed more refined than the usual Arrancar. This may prove fruitful to his research...after all, any information was beneficial. Alexander was not one to ignore such an opportunity.

Walking up, the Captain took the seat opposite Luca in an almost forceful manner, as though he was stating his presence as someone to take note of. "I know what you are." He paused, signaling a nearby waiter to bring him a cup of coffee. "Tell me, do Arrancar such as yourself make a habit out of relaxing in this realm? I would have thought it difficult to restrain your natural urges surrounded by all these humans." The man remarked. It was an honest question, but certainly blunt and to the point. Well, that was our Captain after all.

Hm?

Luca swallowed a piece of the chocolate cookie as a voice piqued in; he'd...felt some sort of spiritual awareness, but such signatures were prominent in this city. He looked up from his seat to see another male...

He blinked at the man's words before shaking his head slightly; "I'm here for medical research; for now, I'm simply taking a break...but I do not feel the urges you speak of."

He was no mindless, hunger-driven hollow... His home in Las Noches did plenty to keep him from feeling that way, he'd loss such a nature long ago.

"Medical research you say? You must be the physician amongst your bretheren. That is, you are an Espada, aren't you? Your energy suggests so." He paused, being distracted by the waiter who returned with his cup of coffee before setting his red eyes back upon Luca. "Then again, Hueco Mundo is a cutthroat place, so I suppose a renegade of your level is not outrageous." Alexander took a sip, analyzing the man's features like a computer scanning an object.

"If you'll indulge me, what exactly is it that you are researching? I would have taken you for a vagabond musician with that case by your seat." He asked plainly. Was it odd that he hadn't introduced himself yet? No...well he didn't find it weird anyway. A normal person probably would.

Luca gave a nod to the man's question, as well as his first assumption; "I'm in charge of healing and health, and yes... I'm the Tricera of the Espada." It had been a recent promotion, but his duties had not changed, though there was no reason they should.

His eyes shifted down to the bag next to his violin case, his expression still quite composed as he was questioned. "I'm becoming familiar with modern medical knowledge... It's evolved since I passed on as a human... I've researched extensively already, but there are still things out there to learn.

As for the case...music is a hobby, when visiting this world I typically bring it with me."

"I see. Ignorance is a burden. We should all strive to seek more knowledge. Research is my hobby." The man replied, a somewhat amused smirk appearing on his visage as he lifted his cup to take a sip of the coffee. "As it should be, anyways. You are speaking to the Captain of the 12th Division, Tricera." It was only fair to trade occupations. The Arrancar had the manners to do so, so he did the same.

"When did you pass? I am also curious to know how advanced the medical facilities are in your realm. Do you salvage from the humans or are you able to construct your own instrument and tools?" Alexander was honestly curious. Traveling to Hueco Mundo was something he planned on doing in his lifetime, as a man of research and science. The more he knew ahead of time, the more he could plan ahead.

Luca gave another small nod, moving to take a sip from the tea he'd gotten earlier himself before setting it down; so this was the Captain of Twelfth then... The research division captain... He hadn't heard much about the specific shinigami, but he knew the Divisions by their duties by now and had that memorized.

When he passed...?

"Nearly...I believe seven-hundred years ago? It's easy to lose track of one's age after so long...but I believe that to be a rough estimate." He answered; "I'm studying modern methods out of interest, knowing it could help me at a later date possibly, I create my own medicines though... They work faster in healing than what humans offer..."

"You do have a point. Sometimes these humans create interesting things. Interesting enough to warrant further study, anyway." Alex quipped before taking another sip. "So you do create your own methods. Good. It is always a shame when I discover another person of research who fails to invent anything of their own." He paused for a moment, a slight sort of twisted smile following.

"In fact, its more apt to call such people thieves rather than people of intellect." A mocking chuckle followed his words. It was perhaps his biggest pet peeve, unsurprisingly.

"So, you are the Tricera then. You must either have been born with great power or you have been with your brethren long enough that you've simply outlasted those before you. Which is it?"

Luca gave a small nod; his methods worked at a faster rate than human medicine and methods could offer. He simply studied and researched out of his own curiosity, and the advancements humans had made did prove interesting.

His abilities were best suited to healing, and that was precisely what he used them for.

"I have not been with the Espada long, only a short while in comparison to the others." He answered before taking a sip from his own cup of tea.

"You must have earned the Corona's favor then, to be given the rank so quickly." Alexander smirked a little bit. "Hopefully through battle and not bedsheets." A slight laugh. The Espada probably wouldn't find that funny, but the Captain did. He had a different sense of humor.

Another sip, followed by a light sigh. He could tell his companion was an intelligent sort, but unlike himself, did not seem to enjoy talking more than he needed to.

"You don't seem much of a conversationalist, if you don't mind me being blunt. Then again, I suppose talking is not much of a useful skill given the nature of your realm."

"The Corona is not like that." Luca answered; he gained his position through his loyalty, he presumed, as well as his usefulness. He could fight, but he was able to act much quicker when it came to assisting his allies.

No, he was not much of a talker... He could not disagree with that; he was quiet, and was more of a listener if he had to be one or the other...

"I typically spent my time in the deserts alone, and my memories had been long forgotten to the point where I had become rather...disconnected from my emotions... I suppose that plays a certain role in my quiet nature...

Overall though, I'm more of a listener..."

It was more so because of him, rather than his realm, there were plenty of social arrancar within the ranks...

"Saraiyu is an willful one, so I do not throw out any sort of possibility when it comes to the Corona." Alexander grinned just a bit as he took another sip of his coffee. The one thing humans did correct that he could not argue was this beverage. It was also certainly true that the leader of the Espada often did what she wanted. This made the man wary of the intentions of the Arrancar, but he only discussed such a matter among colleagues.

The Captain listened to the listener's words and simply nodded, pausing in his enjoyment of the drink.

"So you do not recall anything then? It is often my experience that such is the case with Hollows. Perhaps it is simply the trauma of dying in a violent way, or it could be something different...I would enjoy delving further into the matter and begin a case study of this for research purposes. Wouldn't you agree?" The shinigami spoke. He was unsure of what the Espada's response would be, so he kept a cool demeanor like always.

The first comment wasn't one Luca responded to, instead choosing to sip from his own drink; he had stated what was necessary. The Corona was not like that. That was all Luca felt was necessary to say.

His memories on the other hand, this was a subject he could speak further on.

"I've recently done research, and recalled some things...but before there had been nothing." He answered; "There had been knowledge that stuck with me, as well as certain interests of mine, and my name, but that was the extent of it..."

Whether it warranted further study...

"Perhaps..."

"Mm...I suppose that one cannot study this phenomena without subjecting themselves or another in their case. It would be difficult to re-enact one's death without actually dying again." Alexander chuckled, taking a sip of his beverage. Certainly an idea for the future, creating a device that would allow one's mind to experience such things...

The Captain shifted his focus to the Espada, staring at him with his red eyes. A small smirk appeared on his demeanor.

"Its alright to admit that you don't trust me." He couldn't help but let out a mirthful chuckle. "Your body language gives it away clear as day. You can relax, I have no intention of starting a fight."

It wasn't something easily research-able, not in the slightest... Perhaps advancements in technology would make such a feat possible, but...for now...

Hn?

Well...no, he did not hold any trust for the man. He would be foolish to give his trust away so easily, though...especially so when considering their conversation thus far, but overall...he wasn't one to trust so quickly in the first place...

"I see, though I do not give my trust away easily regardless, so it's nothing especially personal..."
