Only Losers Get Sick

"Mn, a bit...Still sleepy though..." Masaru answered tiredly after Mia had stretch; he didn't feel as...bad as he had the night before, but he was still sleepy and tired even if he couldn't get to sleep right now.

"Thats good... I was worried..." Mia yawned again and kissed Masaru's head after she was finished, still sleepy but waking up rather quickly. She would be tired she felt today, so maybe a nap later...

She had slept badly, that was obvious to her. Her brain had been too full of things that even Masaru's comforting presence hadn't helped.

"I'll be alright..." Masaru muttered in response, "promise."

With more rest he'd be just fine, he'd be better in no time at all; once he was better he'd have his energy back too, that would be good...it wasn't good to be stuck in bed too long...

"How'd you sleep?"

"My brain knows...but my heart worries still." Mia murmured, nuzzling Masaru's head. She still was sleepy and thus had few barriers at the moment. She smiled even so, happy he was feeling a bit better at least.

"Mm...not well..." Looking away from him, Mia knew he couldn't see but she wasn't going to lie to him... about that at least. She didn't have to tell him the reason though!

She hadn't slept well...? She'd seemed fine earlier, but he supposed that hardly counted, maybe that dream had been distracting her...

"Stay in bed then..." He replied, securing his hold on her as he said so; if she was tired then she should rest here more.

"But... I have to get you meds...and water. You need food too..." Mia tried to stop from smiling as Masaru held her more, holding her and keeping her from getting up. Did...he want her to stay with him? Or was he just worrying...

She was seeing signs of love in everything he did now and it was making her blush!

"More rest...that stuff can wait...Not hungry anyway...not yet..." If she was tired then she should stay in here, they could rest together, and later when food was actually needed they could deal with that.

Rest for now though, they could stay in here and rest.

"Mm, this isn't much like you Masa..." Mia smiled, finally moving her hand up to her mouth to cover the soft laughs that threatened to escape. He never spoke like this... Never...and he never just... held her once he was awake enough. He was snuggled up to her chest still and hadn't moved.

"Are you still half asleep?" She was fully awake at this point, resting wouldn't do her much good...

"Mn..." He was still tired from being sick and he was still sick, of course he wasn't acting like himself, or well...sometimes he didn't act like himself. That would've been what he'd have told her had he gained that thought, but it didn't cross his mind, and he couldn't really give an answer.

Maybe he was still half asleep...He was tired after all...

She was laughing though, so he couldn't be acting too badly.

Mia smile and moved her hand to Masaru's hair... Was he... upset or something? She couldn't tell since his face was still firmly planted against her chest.

She was flustered a bit by that but... he... "I-Its...really cute...you are worried about me...and you...seem to want to stay cuddled up... I didn't...didn't know you could be like this..."

He wasn't acting badly then, that was good. Cute though?

"You need rest because you slept badly, and it's comfortable like this." Perhaps...it was a bit of both, as Mia presumed, though he wasn't sure if he could actually say that out loud...maybe he could... "So b-both..."

Well he'd said it, but stuttered...

"O-Oh..." Mia's voice squeaked that out, her face blushing up a storm. This..sleepy and sick Masaru was... He admitted he was comfortable like this...and that he wanted her to rest...

And both. He'd definitely admitted it was both. "I-I just...thought you might...try to get up and do things... It...it is comfy..."

He was a workaholic... But...he wanted to stay here with her more? Mia needed her brain to stop this, she needed it to stop. What had Papa done to her!? She...she needed it to stop, she needed to stop thinking that...

"I would like to, but...as much as I would like to I know better...if I rest I'll get better though, and then I can get back to things." Masaru replied, letting his eyes shut again for a few moments.

Once he was better he could get back on his usual schedule, and also get back into doing things he liked too; he could spend more time with Mia and...not be sick, and also he could get back to cooking things himself.

He wanted to get better...

"I am glad... Its a relief... I won't have to fight you on something else... Speaking of which, I did promise that you couldn't bankai train me if you didn't take the medicine..." Mia tried to hide her smile, making no movement that could be laughter just yet. He was resting, thats what she wanted.

She was going to tell him it was a warning and not that it was going to be carried out... It would distract her...from thoughts of...Masaru just utterly snuggled to her and making no movements at all to leave. He...really was...attached... No! No!

"Hn..." When Mia brought up...that, his mood obviously diminished some; "That...even though..."

He didn't want that! He'd had his reasons for acting that way! He also hadn't meant to make it...hard on them really, but it was just the medicine! She was actually going to go through with it!?

"You took the other medicine...and trusted me... so I won't follow through. It was only a warning though! If you refuse to take the medicine again I'll have to keep that promise..." Mia noticed the saddened mood and gently played with Masaru's hair again. He was pouting just a bit... Why...would he pout over something as silly as bankai training...

"Mm, but...why...why is that so important to you? I-Is if because...you don't...want someone else...to see..." Her dangerous bankai... so dangerous...

At her words, he felt immediate relief; a warning...if...if he took that other medicine though, the one he'd willingly taken...if he just did that he could handle it...so long as he had water right afterwards...

"Tha-gh..." He stopped his thanks as Mia asked...that. "..."

M...maybe that was...part of his reasoning...

"H-Hm?" Masaru had made a weird sound and Mia blinked, still flustered and blushing from her question. She just... wanted to know since if it was just that... she could...

"Well... I-I know you are busy and I hate...eating up your time... so I was thinking of sometimes...asking Papa to help? S-Since the bankai wouldn't...be a problem with him..." She might have asked Aoi but...Aoi would definitely take pictures...

H-How could he just answer that!? It...It was a bit selfish on his part, wasn't it...

Masaru attempted to rush through his thoughts some, trying to quickly come up with a response to answer her with before Mia's words interrupted him.

He sat up some at that, situating himself to where he could actually look at her; "Th-That's not -- you're not eating up my time, at all..." I...It was perfectly acceptable...to train with her father of all people, perhaps training together might even help them bond some more but...

"M...Maybe that...e-e...earlier...is..p-part of the reason...." He hadn't expected his face to be burning this early, but...talking about this how could it not be!?

"B-But you need rest days too...and I b-bet you train with Ikari too to stay so strong... so practicing with someone...as w-weak as I am... I-It must not help you much..." Mia smiled as Masaru sat up, she didn't sound derogatory towards herself or her skills, she was merely stating a fact really. Masaru was immensely powerful, though it was something she forgot a lot of the time... He was so gentle and kind...

She loved him and it would destroy her wouldn't it...

Her face was red from that thought but she was glad he would probably take it from this conversation...

Confusion though passed her flustered features. She scrunched her eyebrows together in the signal she was thinking before she blinked. "M-Maybe? Part...?"

Why...why was he so flustered? I-It was perfectly natural to not want someone else to see your love mostly naked! Aaaaah not love! Mia spluttered as her face turned more red.

"The p-practicing is fine, I enjoy be...being able to help you; i-it makes me happy that...I can h-help you..." Masaru had begun stuttering a decent amount, but...but...saying all of this!

The training was no hassle, he did have solo training but he could handle both!

Mia was reacting quiet strongly to his earlier admittance, she...she was flustered and sputtering a lot...

"But...you wear yourself out a lot... S-So I worry... I'd like to take the pressure off of you...in that way..." Mia was red, he wanted and enjoyed helping her so much... Masaru was...

He did didn't he... He was happy to help her, that he could help her... But he already did in so many ways! What made this way special?! "B-But you help me so much! In everything! S-Speaking and... going without my cloak...and being open....and friends... and even cooking! I've...been helped by you so much..."

"I'm perfectly alright, y-you don't have to worry about pressure, i-it actually helps getting to help you and spend time with y-you..."

It made him happy to, and even though it was bankai training it was actually fun training and being able to help her.

"I-I like being the one that gets t-to help you...I-It makes me r-really happy..."

Mia brightened as Masaru's word just compounded the ones her father had said last night. It had annoyed Kaimu to do it, she had seen that...but he still had given her the absolute truth...

She was so red...but she was smiling so softly and sweetly as she looked away. A hand went to her mouth, covering her lips with a small shy fist. He liked...being the one that gets to help her... It helped him to help her and...spend time with her... He was happy when he got to be the one to help her...

"...O-Okay... you can..always be the one to help me...when you can..." She could barely speak above a whisper... her heart pounded madly in her chest. She was just saying that...but she was also promising him...even if he didn't know it...

"I-It makes me really happy to hear that, Mia." Masaru replied, a rather happy smile crossing his expression before he moved to settle himself back down, on his side, not where he had been but if...if he was there he couldn't look at her face...
