Only Losers Get Sick

"Okay... w-well you are tired...s-so if you just...lay your head on them...you will fall asleep before you melt... I think..." Mia's face was going to melt. She was trying to be all calm and reassuring and she peaked out from her arm to see that yes... Masaru was blushing a dangerous amount.

If he just...if he just...laid his head down... and stopped worrying...it'd be less...

Even if he was tired, he felt he would die before he lost consciousness! He would burn up and die from flustered blushing on top of fever heat!

After a moment or two, his arm moved to wrap around her at least over her waist; he...he would die if he tried to...

Mia snuggled softly against Masaru as his arm wrapped around her waist. Her arm moved from her face and she looked down at Masaru with a sad, expression as he didn't move.

He wanted to do this...but he wouldn't...and she gave him permission...

In a quiet and very very soft tone, Mia spoke one word. "...Please?"

She...She was asking him!? She was asking him with that kind of tone... She wanted him to, and she was asking him to do so!

H...He was going to die then...

Closing his eyes, he moved closer, and the moment he felt her against him his face felt like it was burning at its highest level.

A soft squeak was Mia's only verbal response to what he did as Masaru moved his face against her chest. She...wrapped her arm around him softly and placed her hand in his hair, playing with it softly.

And then...to soothe them both, she started singing his song very gently. Her face was doing its best to explode, but she wouldn't let it. She would never let it...

Masaru's distraction tactic of just thinking of other things stopped when he felt Mia's hand move to his hair as she began to sing softly. That...that was a good distraction, just listen to her and ignore the blushing...

His hold her her became a bit more secure after awhile, his clamped eyes relaxing some after awhile as he slowly began to relax some.

Masaru relaxed, holding her more as he seemed to start to fall asleep. Or maybe he just got used to it? Mia didn't stop singing once his song ended though, she moved onto another to keep him relaxed and happy as it also soothed her.

Singing was one thing, one thing she could be proud of... especially around Masaru. He loved it... He...

Mia froze for a moment, her voice stuttering to a halt as she thought... and just tried to continue singing as if nothing had happened.

She had just...her father had her looking for things...and that. That was something. What he had just done... and said...

She...She had to get a blue feather now!

Masaru had begun to fall into a light doze thanks to Mia's singing, though his eyes opened some as he heard her begin stuttering before she attempted to continue on like she hadn't floundered at all.

"Mn..."

Mia just played with Masaru's hair and sang, wanting more than anything for him to just drift off and sleep... Her head leaned down slightly and planted a kiss on his head. She would stop singing only when she was sure he was out...

And then she could have her mental breakdown that was coming... She would...have to research tomorrow...

As Mia continued singing he fell farther into his daze, eventually falling to sleep fully; once he was in a rather deep sleep after a few moments he cuddled up more properly to her completely unaware of his actions as he slept on.

When would she get to sleep? Never? Never sounded good. Mia laid there as Masaru snuggled right up once he was asleep.

Yes...it seemed...he was holding back while awake...because of embarrassment and flustered...

Masaru...really really cared didn't he...

Mia closed her eyes as her song faded away, she tried to will herself to sleep but was failing. Blue...feather...had to find... it... It took her a while and many just jolting thoughts, but Mia fell asleep eventually...

Eventually when morning came, Masaru stirred for a moment; the moment he opened his eyes he immediately shut them. He should go back to sleep. Sleep was good, he didn't need to let his eyes adjust if he were still asleep.

So instead of waking up, his sleepy mind chose to have him cuddle closer to Mia and attempt to doze again.

Mia grumbled lightly at the soft movement, her sleep having been restless and not fufilling... Her hand found Masaru's head, instinctively petting it as she slowly drifted out of sleep. At least she had the warm heater on her chest... That was nice... It was also heating more of her as well... How kind of it...

Masaru felt a sensation in his hair, it felt nice, and soothing; it easily helped him with his attempts to doze more and ignore the fact it was morning. He was perfectly comfortable, why should he even think of getting up?

Mia's hand fell back to Masaru's neck as she drifted off again. Too tired... too warm to get up. She had warm and she had bed and it was morning but...she didn't care...

Morning was for people who got up for things... she did not get up for things...

Eventually, Masaru's mind began to forbid anymore sleeping, for now anyway, and reluctantly he began to awaken again.

"Mnn..." What time was it...

Work...did he have...work today?

Obviously, his mind was still a bit fogged...

Mia heard a sound and replied to it. "Feath...er..."

Sounds...there were sounds with the warmth...something she was supposed to do... Her hand shifted on Masaru's back a bit as she gripped it. She had to..get the feather for...him...

It was just there though... how could she show him...

"Mn?" That was...Mia's voice; something about a feather?

He felt Mia's hand move, gripping at his back after she'd muttered in her sleep. She was dreaming about birds or something...he assumed...feathers...

"Gotta...be...blue..." Mia murmured, half asleep as she heard someone question more. Blue...don't get another color...blue was important. She squirmed lightly under Masaru, shaking her head just a bit as she fought a losing battle against wakefulness...

"Maybe...match...him..."

A feather that had to be blue? Dreaming about...bluebirds? That was the first thing his mind had gone to, though it was a wonder why she was dreaming about such a thing... Now that he was a little more awake he could question that even if his mind couldn't entirely process an answer or speculation.

"Mn?" Match him?

"Mhm...blue...its pretty... dark blue...is my favorite...but light blue...growing on me..." Mia mumbled as she shifted a bit, her sleep hazed mind just responding without even a thought between it. "Find...one that...matches...his...blue..."

Yeah...best plan...good thinking brain...

His blue...?

She wanted a blue feather but blue to match his blue? He didn't really understand, and even if he were fully awake he wasn't sure he'd understand the concept without context either...

Blue feather?

Mia drifted back off into sleep without promptings, her mind too tired and frazzled from last night and her fitful slumber making her just want to sleep without waking for now. She...sleep... sleep was good...back to dreams...

Mia didn't talk anymore, seeming to have fallen right back to sleep; Masaru couldn't fall back to sleep as easily though, even if he was still tired, shutting his eyes was nice though...

Blue feathers...

After some time, Mia finally, finally woke up enough to move due entirely to the fact that she could not drift back into sleep enough. Stretching lightly with her legs first, the rest of her followed though it was trapped under the warm snuggles. Blinking darkly circled eyes, Mia yawned and smiled at Masaru.

"Morning... Feeling better?" She hoped he was a bit...he had been so sick...
