Paying a Visit (Open)

"O-Okay! Umm... Thank you for the tea! A-And dinner and, umm... I-I'll be back again soon!" Obie said as he bowed repeatedly at his parents, holding a large box wrapped up in a blanket close to his chest. The sun was high in the sky about the Rukon as Obie began leaving from his usual trip to see his family. Ever since he was sent to the Academy, he promised to always come back every once in a while and have a nice dinner and talk about everything that had happened.

And today's dinner was no different, except for the large box that he now awkwardly carried away from the front door as he began his walk back to the 4th Division. All Obie did was mention that he was starting to make tea for the Captain and all of a sudden his mom pushed all these different kinds of teas at him. There was like... twenty different types of tea in this, c'mon!

But it wasn't like he truly minded having to carry them all back to his room. Other than the fact that it was a bit unwieldy and Obie looked like he would just topple over at any minute, he was still quite excited about another charming meal with his parents. "Ahh, it's good to see mom and dad keeping the garden nice and tidy still. I was a little worried when the rains didn't come in like we thought they were, but looks like they've managed to keep everything under control!"

And so Obie began making his way, however unsteadily, back through the roads of the Rukon as he hummed happily to himself, stopping only briefly to awkwardly balance the box on his knee as he adjusted his sunhat to fit better on his noggin.

Yysara wasn't supposed to be here, or well she was allowed here since she wasn't attacking or anything but... Well she learned so much about the human world that it left her curious what the shinigami did. However she didn't just want to pop up in the seireitei out of nowhere, that would be rudeness of the highest form!

But how was one supposed to... supposed to show up?

The stoic arrancar thought over her options and decided heading from the rukon first would be the best plan.

It was not. Pulling her sheer veil over her head more, Yysara wished she had thought to bring her gigai. It would apparently gather less attention than her looks had, one finger rubbing the head of her constant snake companion. Luka was there as well, the blue coral snake that also liked to travel around. Several others were on her but hiding deeply in her clothing at the momen due to the shrieks of the people.

It seemed crimson snake eyed women with low open kimonos and fangs were not welcome in this place. Not to mention the mask remnants...

Wait... Someone! They had a hat!

Blinking, she strode from the alleyway after a quick look around and walked up to the man. She attempted to cover her features as best she could with the veil but it was not very good at that, however it was better than leaving empty handed. Pastel and Luka slipped back into her kimono, hiding for now as she waved the man down.

Her voice almost emotionless, calm and unhurried as well as slightly slurred due to her minor fangs. "Rukon citizen, may I please have a moment. I require your aid."

The more Obie walked through the Rukon, the more he began to notice that today was actually quite nice! The weather, while still being able to bother his sensitive skin. was quite relaxing, and all the other residents seemed to be having a good day as well! That was good, it was... safe.

Obie had the privileged when he was younger to be born in the upper half of the Rukon, mostly free of any raiders or bandits stomping their way into his life, so he was glad to see that things had mostly stayed the same since he left. He only screamed two times on his way here, after all! But now he had his new giant box of tea to take care of as well as he made his way back to the Fourth Division headquarters, so he had to be extra careful indeed.

But then the shrieking began, and Obie froze on the spot. Well, he would have, but the box he was carrying had nearly as much mass as he did and it made him take an extra few steps forward before he could catch his balance again.

"O-Oh no... What is it? B-B-Bandits? H-Hollows? Oh no Oh dear Oh GEEZ..." His red eyes began to quickly search around him for the sudden screams, the box of tea pressed closer to his chest as a sort of security box as panic began to set into the Shinigami. oh no oh no what would even attack here oh god oh geez what if it comes for meeeee

And then there was the voice. THAT voice. It seemed to come out of nowhere, a dark, terrifying, SPOOKY voice that sent shivers down Obie's spine as he slowly turned around to so what it was that called out to him. Normally he would try not to see spooky things, but he was fairly certain that whatever this was would probably kill him, so might as well face his death with a shred of dignity.

"W-W-W-What do you want with m-me?" It was a woman, of sorts. Maybe? She certainly looked like a woman, at least. Not to mention her voice was particularly spooky as well. Oh geez, this was surely the end of poor Obie. "A-Actually I'm not a citizen of the R-Rukon at all I'm... I'm a Shinigami, oh geez..." And this spooky person needed his help? Help how? Oh gooooood why is everything so spooky now!?

Such a slow turn made Yysara ponder what was wrong though not a sign of that showed on her face. He wasn't any odder than she was looks wise, though they shared similar features such as light hair and red (lighter in his case) eyes. She found herself confused by that but pushed it aside as a snake peeked from her sleeve.

Despite his panicked response, she seemed unaffected in the least and waited for him to finish speaking before her response. A shinigami! This changed her plans entirely! Yysara blinked slowly and then bowed low for Obie, her mysterious uniform the most spooky thing about her as it didn't shift of fall despite the rules of physics and gravity at work. "Ah. I would like to visit the Seireitei. It would be rude to just arrive. Would you please lend me your hat and take me there, Lord Shinigami?"

She was unaware of how spooky she seemed apparently and just continued to stay bowed.

How was this spooky lady so calm?! Didn’t she hear the shrieking earlier? Shrieking usually meant bad things! Between worrying about that and trying to calm himself down, Obie briefly noticed that Yysara seemed to have slightly similar looks to his own which was… kinda reassuring? Unless she was a body snatcher and she took a similar form to his own so they could snatch him away oh noooOOOO…

“W-Wait why are y-y-you bowing no why I don’t…” ‘Don’t eat me’ was one of the few things that was on his mind, but the sheer… oddity of the way her robes behaved was enough to break his concentration momentarily as he continued to panic on the spot. But… the robe… It shouldn’t- How does it- Ohgod ohGEEZ even her robe is spooky no why oh god WAS THAT A SNAKE IN HER ROBE?!?

Obie had very complicated feelings about snakes, among other things. On one hand, sometimes they ate pests in his garden and that was great! On the other hand: Snakes are also very super spooky and some are made of poison or something? Why would they do that?!

“Wait y-you want to… to visit the Seireitei? I don’t- Why… My hat?” The poor Third Seat was becoming more and more confused with each passing second and statement from the Arrancar’s sudden appearance and requests. [i]N-No, focus Obie! One thing at a time! She said she wants to visit the Seireitei, but it’d be rude to arrive? So she’s not a shinigami? But then…

“Umm… Ma’am? I don’t… I’m not a lord, a-at all. Please don’t bow at me.” Obie’s eyes began boring holes into the top of the large box of tea he held in his hands, which were also shaking. “B-But why do you need me to escort you there? A-And why do you need my hat? I mean, unless you’re an a-albino person too, I mean you kinda look like it kinda a little bit…” His voice trailed off as he tried to get a better grip on the box and not also freak out all at the same time.

“I-I mean I kinda need my hat, it keeps the sun out of my eyes and everything. B-But I could… Maybe take…you… there…?” He wasn’t even sure if accepting or refusing her offer would lead to the quicker death or not… Or is a quicker death even the right choice? Oh god so many scary things AND HE WAS HAVING SUCH A GOOD DAY TOO HE EVEN HAD CRUMPETS.

"...I am bowing to also be polite?" Yysara was now confused, this man was freaking out more and more... Wasn't bowing polite? Was she wrong? She straightened up, her head cocked to the side in ultimate confusion. "I am learning. I have not been to the Seireitei, I wish to learn of it."

The shinigami's confusion (and panic) was growing and she felt that explaining her intentions first was the most important thing, though her confusion was also growing... Huh? Could he not tell what she was? Her hands moved to her chest, lifting and pulling them apart to reveal the hidden hole between them... "I am a fraccion of the Primera Espada, Yysara Emr, not an albino or a Ma'am. People here are scared of me. I did not bring a disguise, your hat would help hide me."

"Is...bowing not polite then here?" Confusion was more easily heard in her voice now as she asked almost hesitantly, crimson eyes showing minor worry. Should she have not bowed? Was this some sign of aggression and a fearful action to him? A small rainbow colored snake slipped over her shoulder and around her neck from the back, nuzzling the now minorly worried arrancar in a soothing action. "Did...I disturb you that much with it? My apologies..."

He was shaking... She really had messed this up greatly. How annoying...

“P-Polite?” Obie’s own confusion grew as he trembled in front of the fraccion, the tea box in his hands shaking slightly as he stood there. People… did bow from time to time but… Not usually to total strangers? Or call people lords? Obie couldn’t decide if he should be more terrified of Yysara or confused, so he struck a rather reasonable middle ground and did both. “Learn about t-the… The Seireitei? But… I don’t, um… Okay?”

Oh god what do I even do at a time like this? What if she’s a bad guy and me showing her the Seireitei leads to bad things happening?! Or what if she isn’t but if I don’t show her she’ll get mad and then that’ll be the end of Obie foreeeeveeeeeeer… AND WHY IS SHE TRYING TO SHOW ME HER CHEST WHAT

Obie’s eyes immediately looked straight down at the box in his hands, a faint blush coming across his face. “N-N-No! That’s not, um, n-necessary or anything! It’s fin-“ His fluster was stopped mid-sentence as he heard Yysara mention being a fraccion, for an Espada no less. Suddenly tons of spooky memories raced to his mind at once, and his eyes grew wider than they were before.

“E-E-Espada? S-So you’re an A-Arrancar, oh dear oh geez… D-Did Miss Esmeralda send you?” Spooky shadows, spooky human world, tea that wasn’t tea at all; all the memories were coming back from his last encounter with an Arrancar, and they were spooky! Where they after him now? Did he accidentally anger them by passing out?! Ooooh deaaaar… “Hat… disguise…? I, I suppose it would maybe help, I don’t know…” All he could do at this point was panic in solitude at the events that found their way to him today. If she was anything like Esmeralda, he wasn’t getting away anytime soon…

“But I can’t, umm… Move my hands so you’d have to… T-Take the hat from head or w-whatever. Y-You don’t have to apologize or a-a-anything I’ll just…” Obie sighed deeply as he resigned himself to his fate yet again. “I-I’ll show you around the Seireitei or w-whatever…” Why are the Arrancar so spooky? Why can’t they have normal people that aren’t scary shadows or people with snakes in their clothes o-or whatever? Aww…

The shinigami still trembled and she wondered why. Yysara had stated what she was doing, she had been polite... Or tried to... Though customs in other places were different, so it was possible she had done something of gravest offense... That shaking was fearful though. He did at least accept it, her eyes darting to the box and wondering if it was heavy and if she should offer her assistance with it as well... "Thank you..."

He did not...want the proof of her arrancar nature? He was staring at the box... And now he was more scared. How had her books not prepared her for this!? There was no manual, she would have to take mental notes and file them herself later to put in book format for others to follow. "...No. I am not acquainted with the Segunda. I am the Primera, Shinya's Fraccion. The Segunda is entirely different... I suppose it would be like your Divisions. My Master is the Human World's watcher."

The segunda's work was entirely different. She spoke much this time, attempting to explain though explanations seemed to only make him worse... Well there was nothing to be done. The fraccion had been standing almost unnaturally still but for her breathing, blinking and trying not to startle this man more. He seemed like a small prey animal really...

As permission was immediately given, Yysara nodded and promptly removed the man's hat, careful not to hurt him or mess his hair up too much. Looking up, she realized she could trade him and pulled her own veil off of her head before placing the hat on her head. It did somewhat help, shading her eyes and features a bit... She then settled her veil on his head softly, moving it until it was just right before giving another firm nod.

There. Now what was she supposed to do to be polite... Um... Ah! Compliments. "You look very pretty."

Yes. She did it. Master would be so proud.

She thanked him for his very unwilling agreement to show her around Soul Society. Greaaaaaaaaat... Far be it for Obie to go back on his word though, even if the agreement was brought on by extreme fear-related distress.

"T-The Segunda? I thought Miss Esmeralda said she was a... Quarter or something... D-Did something change when I passed out or something?" Segunda is... S-Seven? Maybe? Aww, I should have looked more information on the Arrancar up after dealing with Miss Esmeralda... Obie sighed softly as he listened to Yysara explain her position among the other Espada. But honestly? It was... still kinda confusing for him. Poor Obie really only passed the Academy with salve-making scholarship. Basically.

And apparently her master watched over the Human World! How terrifying! A job like that must be the scariest thing ever... And scary jobs take scary people to do them... It was basically a fact of nature.

Those thoughts thankfully took all of Obie's attention for the moment as Yysara carefully took the sunhat off of his head, leaving his bright white hair shining in the sun briefly before she put her own veil on his head in exchange. He blinked briefly in confusion as he looked up and through the veil with slightly less wide but still questioning eyes.

"P-Pretty? I... Umm... Thank y-you?" As far as hats went, veils weren't really his go-to, but... Well. When in Spirit Rome, do like the Spirit Romans do. Except this is really more like Japan and... Nevermind. I don't... think anyone's called me pretty? It's... weird...? "So um... Do you have any... particular place in the Seireitei you'd like to visit?"

"The Espada numbers have been shuffled recently. My Master was the Tricera until shortly ago, Esmerelda is now the left hand of the Corona, my Master the right." Yysara tilted her head, should a shinigami be that uninformed? It didn't really matter she guessed... But he had never introduced himself or his work. Maybe he was one who was not accustomed to dealing with such things?

Well that would make sense... Yysara fiddled with the hat, adjusting it just so to cover her odd looks and throw her face properly in shade to avoid problems... Those fangs were a bit harder to hide but they only barely showed. Someone might think they were just overly long yet perfectly placed teeth.

"Welcome." She had done the complimenting right, Obie's thank most welcome! Yysara felt pleased with her work and the tiniest smile appeared on her lips. He did look... was the word endearing? Like a small scared animal who one wished to patpat and soothe, especially with her veil to cover his face.

"I have no idea. The Seireitei is big... I would visit any place you deemed acceptable, Lord Shinigami." Without a name, he would be treated to intense formality. They should be on their way soon though or else cause people to gather once more... On another note of politeness, Yysara tilted her head just so and spoke quietly. "Would you wish me to carry your box for you? It looks heavy."

"O-Oh... Okay..." Their numbers... shuffle? I-I guess that kinda makes sense if one of them die or something... But all these weird names are so confusing and I honestly don't really need to know what their ranks or whatever are because they're ALL scary a-and aww...

"S-So um, congratulations f-f-for you master I suppose? I mean I don't think an A-Arrancar would care too much about the thanks of a shinigami b-but maybe... Oh never mind." Obie deflated slightly as he hugged his tea box. I don't think me complimenting them is going to make them any less spooky, especially not if he watches over the Human World... "And you're welcome f-for the hat just please... Be careful with it? IT's a very nice hat and I like it..."

It was his favorite garden hat, after all! It always did a good job of keeping the sun out of his eyes, and mostly just his face in general! He just hoped the spooky snake lady didn't do anything weird to it... Like try and eat it whole or fill it with venom or anything. Snakes did those things all the time, right?

Not to mention this veil on his head was not his favorite hat. It was... weird. Obie had never worn a veil before, and yet here he was getting one placed on his head by a strange new Arrancar lady. And to think that the day had started out so promisingly relaxing... "U-Um also could you please not call me 'Lord Shinigami'? I wouldn't want to m-make any of the actual lords mad if they heard somebody call me a lord or something. I-It's just Obie. My uh, name, that is."

And then Yysara had to go and suggest holding his box for him. The Third Seat's reaction was quite telling that he would rather her not hold it, due to the fact that he halfway threw himself over the box as he hugged it even tighter against him. "N-N-No it's okay Igotitthankyou!" A few seconds passed as he stared scared out of his mind at Yysara before standing upright and looking to the side sheepishly. "I-I mean It's not all that heavy, I just need t-to... take it to the 4th Division where I work. So maybe we could start the tour... there?"

"My thanks. Why would he ignore congratulations?" Once more confused, Yysara tilted her head to the side and blinked as he deflated. Was this Shinigami so... So melodramatic all the time? Where did he get the energy? Were all Shinigami like this? At least she could learn much today...

"...I will guard it with my being." So this hat was of importance to the shinigami? And yet he had been kind enough to allow her to use it... Yysara smiled very softly again and bowed her head respectfully, the tiny snake in her hair slipping up into the hat to give it extra protection. His super special hat must be protected at all costs then.

Another respectful nod was given as Obie mentioned Lords disliking someone who wasn't being called such. Something at the back of her mind agreed with that and it seemed logical to want to protect one's self from reprisal. "Obie."

There was no reason he should give her a tour for no payment, though that box must be even more important to him than the hat. Her crimson eyes missed little of his reaction, his attempts to keep her from the box telling and obvious so she made no motions towards it in the least. He might crawl into the box at the rate he was going... She waited until he was calm before speaking, just in case her voice might startle him again. "That sounds agreeable. If it becomes too heavy, I would be willing to help in return for this tour."

"I-I just... maybe some Arrancar don't like Shinigami? I don't know I just... s-stay here in Soul Society as much as I can, everything else is just too... spooky." Obie replied, shivering slightly. Going to the human world and running into Esmeralda at the same time? Forever tainted his view of that crazy, spooky world. "B-But um... thank you for taking care of my hat..."

At least that's what he thought she was doing with all those snakes. How does one person keep all those snakes on them at once? Maybe she was actually made of snakes... Either way, terrifying. But he couldn't exactly freak out too much not that she had his favorite hate, so poor Obie had to grin and bear it. For now.

"O-Okay, I guess we should probably, umm... Get going, then? I-I mean I don't know if you have a particular schedule that you need to keep or anything so I won't be too slow but then again rushing a tour is also kinda rude or something so maybe slow is better? I don't..." Obie looked up at the Arrancar with wide, questioning eyes before sighing and walking forward. "J-Just follow me, miss... Um. I don't think I... every got your name? I-I'm sorry!"

Oh god how rude am I, I didn't even ask her name and just gave her mine and oh god I'm a horrible tour guide and WHAT IF SHE GETS MAD AND HER SNAKE EATS MY HAT- Panic mode (tm) began to settle in Obie's mind as his hands gripped the tea box tighter, his eyes bouncing off of everything as he began preparing for any kind of hat-related threat he could foresee. Must get box safe. Box is the most important. Then not angering snake Arrancar with tour comes next. That will save my hat, yes.

"I guess that is true. My master does not hate anyone though... The soul society is very spooky. There are people who scream over snakes and lots of them. It was quite terrifying earlier." Yysara spoke with her carefully calm face, looking anything but terrified or afraid. "The desert is quieter and darker."

"Welcome." She would definitely protect the hat, it was his precious hat apparently and meant much to him. It would be quite rude to ignore such feelings for her own security. As he moved forward, his words telling her that it was time to follow him for the tour, she began to trail after him while pulling a large notepad and pen from her cleavage. "My schedule is open. I do not mind, any tour is acceptable. You have my dearest thanks for all your help."

There was a bit of a pleased tone in her voice finally, a bit more emotion really as her rainbow snake popped up over her shoulder and began looking around as well. However there was one major problem unaddressed as she took notes.

"I thought..." The snake woman followed Obie but almost paused to blinked in worry. Hadn't she introduced herself already? How rude of her to have failed. The shinigami must be right! "Yysara. I apologize for not introducing myself, Obie. Do you require recompense?"

That might account for his shaking. Was he angry at her for her rudeness? How dare she...

"O-Oh yeah, people screaming over snakes why would they do that hahaha..." MAYBE BECAUSE SNAKES ARE SPOOKY A LOT YEAH THAT'S PROBABLY THE REASON. And compared to... almost literally everywhere else Obie had been Soul Society was the least spooky. But then again he also rarely left his home as a child and barely leaves the 4th unless sent elsewhere too. But a quiet, darker desert? That... that does sound kinda nice...

Obie let his mind linger on that a few seconds as he led Yysara towards the 4th Division headquarters, his giant tea box in tow, still held tightly against his  person. "U-Uh right, you're um, welcome for the t-tour and everything. I'll probably... not be the best guide because I only really know parts of the 4th but... I guess we could walk around the Seireitei for a bit and get the same kind of result?" Maybe??? Tours were just being lost and not minding it, right?

And there was another snake! How many snakes does this spooky lady have? Does she have a lot of pockets in her robes or something? ...I could use a lot of pockets in my robes. I could carry a whole lot more  seed packets that way... But Obie's fashion thoughts were cut short as something much more spooky came to mind.

She totally told him her name earlier and he forgot it like a big dumb dummy dumb.

OH NOOOOOOO NOW SHE'LL THINK I'M STUPID OR FORGOT HER NAME OR I DON'T CARE ABOUT HER AND THEN SHE'LL KILL ME! "H-Haha, right... Yysara, I'll remember that, a-a-ahahaa..." A bead of sweat dripped down the side of Obie's face as every part of his self control was telling him not to just immediately dash down the streets screaming his head off until he could hide safely in his room. "A-And I don't need... Recompense? We can just... call it even o-or something and not have to worry about that hahaha..."

Oh god I'm totally gonna die giving a tour this is not how I imagined that I'd die now that I'd want to think about how I die but this is it gonna die

"Indeed. They are not bothersome at all... It is...disturbing to them to hear screaming." Much like herself. Yysara nodded thoughtfully and smiled once more as Obie agreed with her assessment on the screaming. He must like snakes too! Her smile, that what it was, was a twinge larger than before.

Following just enough to not get lost and be heard but keeping her distance so as to not disturb the startling shy man, Yysara thought on his words for the moment before nodding. "...Leading me around quietly is fine. I just wish to take notes..."

Should she reassure him on the fineness of his tour guiding? It... might not help and thus Yysara continued to take notes as they walked. At least she looked somewhat official being escorted by another and not just a random snake woman. The hat was shading her enough as well...

"Thank you, Obie." He would remember her name, how nice. Yysara barely looked up at the man as she took notes on her surroundings. How she was doing so without looking from her notepad was a mystery though also might have something to do with the majestical rainbow snake that was looking around at everything. "Equal footing is appreciated."

What though could she do to be polite moreso... Maybe she should ask? Yes, asking was best. Yysara gazed up finally at Obie before her head tilted just so. "Are there any customs I should be aware of for entering the seireitei?"

"Yeah screaming is pretty bad..." Obie said softly. If only the box was just a little bit smaller so he could crawl up in it and hide safely forever and ever and ever... No wait that was rude. To be fair to Yysara, she hadn't done anything... overtly spooky since her initial spooking of him earlier.

But is it safe to relax around her either???? Oh whyyyyyy do I have to get myself in situations where EVERYTHING about a person is super spooky whyyyyy...

And so, Obie tried to tour guide his way through their little trip, shakingly pointing at things as they passed them and giving bits of his limited knowledge to the snakey fraccion that followed behind him. All the while fretting over being both a terrible tour guide and also dying soon. At least the box was there, the box was safe. "A-And we're about to walk up to the Fourth Division here, w-we mostly stay with healing those that are injured and things l-like that..."

The two of them came up to a large bamboo fence that surrounded the perimeter of a section of the Division at the back, and Obie led Yysara to a small door on the side. "Okay um... I-I'm about to show you the 4th's gardens. I, um... Kinda handle them myself mostly, b-but sometimes the Captain sends people to help me too..." Also I just reaaaaaaaaaally feel safer in the garden alone but I also don't want to refuse help because Captain Lakshmi Ma'am is so nice aaaaaaa...

Her question about customs caught Obie mid-thought though, and he looked at her for several seconds. "C-Customs... Uh... I don't t-think so? I-I mean maybe 'no fighting' is a custom or something? I-I just... kinda keep to myself, really. I mean, I do tea ceremonies sometimes but I don't think... yeah." Customs? I don't... I've never had that question before...

Yysara trailed after Obie, much like a little curious duckling and just as quiet really. Other than small questions here or there as Obie shakily pointed out things, Yysara was fairly quiet and calm. More insanely calm and fairly quiet. She took notes and nodded, accepting his words as ultimate law it seemed as well. He was teaching her so much...

"Ah... Like our Tricera." Ah! So Obie was one of those! A healer and caregiver... How fascinating, no wonder he was taking care of her so well. Yysara took more notes, also noting that she should give him suitable recompense for his work more and more. But what though?

As the fence was approached, Pastel nudged her and forced her attention back on the present. Gardens? She...did not see those very often and there was intense curiosity shining in her eyes as she looked from the door to Obie. "I see. That sounds soothing... Would you like your hat back now?"

If there would be no others, there would be a lack of disturbing screaming and thus also a lack of need for the hat. Yysara lifted it carefully from her head, holding it out in offering. If she moved too fast, the man would be disturbed. His next words caused a pause though, her motions freezing. "No...fighting ...and tea ceremonies... I see."

So those were Shinigami customs! How fascinating... She was learning so much and she got to see the Fourth's Gardens! There were sure to be snakes here, maybe special shinigami breeds as well... It would be an amazing day, yes. It had been so far at least.

Oh god why is she so quiet. Obit thought, nearly scared out of his wits as he opened the door to the Division’s garden, barely turning the handle with a single finger as the box in his hands took the rest of the space in his arms. The Third Seat shook his head rapidly as he stood at the door. No Obie, no thinking such thoughts. Miss Yysara has been nothing but polite today, i-if a little bit spooky. But she hasn’t sent shadow bat things after you or given you tea that was really booze, so… calm down? Right… “U-Umm, your Tricera? Is that like a… Doctor or something? Doctor of Three? Three Medic?” Arrancar rankings were beyond Obie at this point. He could barely comprehend the numbers; let alone what they corresponded to.

However! There was one shining moment of hope that presented itself as he got ready to show the Fraccion his pride and joy: His hat back! “O-Oh right, I um, would very much like my hat back thank you.” However he couldn’t really… make a move to get the hat from her on account big box. So instead, Obie’s eyes moved from his sunhat, to Yysara, and then looking up towards his own head, as if trying to signal that ‘Hat + Obie Head = okay.’

“And after I put this box in my room we c-could… take a look at the gardens or the Division I guess? I don’t know if I need to find you a visitor’s pass or some kinda badge so that people don’t question stuff…” Maybe? She was definitely an usual guest, even by shinigami standards.

Soothe the poor thing, he's like a rabbit caught by one of us. Not that I'd eat rabbit. Uncooked rabbit.

"...Pastel says to stop worrying." Yysara spoke up as the man opened the door into the gardens, having noted the fear but wondering what to do. Other than telling him to stop worrying, it seemed there was no course of action for her.

At least there was a topic she could understand though and Yysara latched onto information Obie about the structure of the Espada.

"Numbers are tied to power, not jobs. His skills lie in healing and making medicines, so he is our healer. The lower the number, the stronger the Espada." Yysara noted Obie's lack of knowledge and attempted a short explanation, her hand reaching out to first take the veil and gently cradling it to her before setting the hat back on the albino's head. She adjusted it just so, much like a mother making sure her child's clothes were perfect in a small fussing manner before she was satisfied. The hints had been too much for her to bare, almost adorable really. "There."

Following him to his room... It might scare him. She offered him a suitable option instead, looking around the small section they were in and sensing out things. Her robes moved gently as her snakes heard friends waiting... "I can wait here, if that is acceptable. There are many snakes I wish to greet... They like your garden, many bugs to eat because your plants are delicious to their food source it seems."

The snake woman settled the veil on her own head, pulling it gently down and hiding her features only minorly.

“…Pastel?” Obie looked around where the two of them stood for several seconds before noticing the snake on Yysara’s person. “I-Is… Is Pastel one of the um, snakes with you? And they… talk t-to you?” Nope nope noep nothing creepy at all she was a totally normal person yep nothing spooky about this Fraccion aT ALL. Instead of freaking the heck out, Obie simply froze in place as she swapped the hats once more, choosing to focus more on what she was saying about Espada structure than the fact that his idea about psychic snakes wasn’t too far off.

“O-Oh… okay… So Miss Esmeralda just changed her number then?” Wait hold on if her number got lower, that mean she got even more powerful… ohno “But at least t-the Triceratops seems like a nice person. It sounds a lot like what we do here in the Fourth, yeah…” His favorite hat now safely re-attached to his head, Obie chose to just… waddle as fast as the giant box in his hands would allow him towards his room as he left Yysara to do her spooky snake stuff. “Okay that’s great I’m glad the snakes like it here I’mjustgonnagoandbebacksoonokay.”

Move move move moveMOVEMove The skittish man soon found himself in front of the sliding door that lead to his quarters, quickly opened by a nudge of his foot, and he stepped into the very dim but comfy room. The only source of light were several burning candles scattered all around the room, but Obie didn’t have time for that. He quickly placed the large box onto one of the many, many pillows that were scattered on the floor of the room and ran back out of the room with a similar sun hat to the one he currently had on his head in his hands.

Snakes like peace offerings, right? Right. Totally. Probably even snake ladies. Ooooohhh I hope they don’t eat my garden. Or me. In that order.

“U-Umm, Miss Yysara? I uh, I’m back. And I got a… A spare hat for your if you’d like something that covers your head a bit… more?” Well, the veil was back on her head, but why the sudden choice to put it back on when she said that it wasn’t nearly as helpful? Snake people were spoooooky!

Yysara nodded as Obie quivered in abject fear over her power, pointing to the oddly pastel rainbow colored snake. It looked almost like it was spun from sugar candy of some sort, the snakes eyes perfectly silver-blue and very oddly intelligent. It looked at Obie, gave a nod in greeting and flicked its tongue out towards the albino. "My snakes communicate well. Pastel is the smartest. Other snakes... mostly talk in simple ways. Ah, such as what they are eating, if they are hungry whether they have eggs to care for and so forth. Complex thoughts are beyond them."

Explanations were good and speaking about snakes seemed to cause her to light up a bit more, breaking from her calm demeanor only slightly as a twinge of excitement had entered her words.

"...He is not a reptile." Yysara seemed confused by the name Triceratops as she spoke those words in an utter monotone, wondering why such a thing as a dinosaur was brought up in regards to Luca. It was confusing, did he assume they were all snakes and reptiles? Yes, she was similar to one but it wasn't as if they all were. "And the Segunda was promoted, yes. She is also not a reptile."

Just in case, it was good to remind him and she called after him and he skedaddled away. He was happy the snakes liked it? Well of course they would...

Bending down, she knelt in the dirt as he left her alone... A few of the braver snakes quickly came up to greet her and she began speaking to them and questioning their lives. This garden was so nice for them and with a bit of her usual persuasion over snakes she gave them some simple orders that would help them and Obie live in nice symbiosis. Mostly things to keep them out of his way and works, since the snakes benefited from the plants that brought in their major food source. Garden snakes mostly fed on insects so it was a nice partnership that could be formed. As time passed, more snakes came out to greet her before moving off to live their snaky lives.

She felt Obie returning though, his signature memorized, and thus shooed away the stragglers while standing with a flick of her wrist and a soft smile. The few remaining slithered away just in time as the nervous bunny man returned and she bowed for him again.

"We are in your gardens... People do not come here often it seems and Shinigami will not fear an Arrancar..." However despite her words, as he had brought the item with him and it would be rude to refuse, Yysara stayed bent down. They weren't much different height wise, but it was polite to allow him more room. The tiniest snake, a little light cream that almost matched her hair, slithered down her hair a bit and curled around her ear instead, watching Obie with eyes also far too intelligent for such a creature. "...Welcome back. Your snakes are quite nice..."

The thought of super intelligent snakes stayed in Obie’s thoughts as he left Yysara alone in his gardens, and it wasn’t particularly a happy one either. Also the fact that snakes laid eggs. This was news to him, terrifying news. It’s not like Obie had any need to learn about the habits of snakes in the first place, on account of them being too spooky. But now there was both a lady Arrancar that can talk to snakes and also snakes that were smarter than normal ones. Greaaaaaaat…

Which is why he hoped really, really hard that his peace offering of hat was going to be enough to keep him in the creepy snake lady’s well wishes. If he wasn’t too busy kicking himself for getting the Espada names mixed up again. Apparently his little slip ended up having him calling the medic guy of the Arrancar some kind of lizard? Whoops! “I, umm… apologize. I didn’t mean to call anyone a reptile. A-And I’ve met Miss Esmeralda before, she was… very much not a reptile. Sometimes she was a bat. And if bats weren’t creepy enough, she also did creepy stuff with shadows…

And at least Yysara didn’t summon an army of snakes while he was gone either. Or, at least as far as Obie could see. For all he knew they were hiding in the grass or in his room somewhere waiting for him to slEEP AND CRAWL INTO HIS EARS OR SOMETHIN-nononono bad thoughts Obie don’t think them in case the psychic snake hears them!

“R-Right, um… T-Thanks?” Obie of course couldn’t talk to snakes, so he was just going to have to take the Fraccion’s probably well-informed words to heart. He hadn’t really had any encounters with snakes in his garden yet either, so maybe they weren’t that bad? Maybe? Or just biding their time for something more sinister. Always a possibility. In any case, Yysara continued to bow to Obie even after he returned, which began to worry the third seat even more until he finally put two and two together while looking down at the hat he was offering her. “Oh… Duh.” He let out a small, tired sight at his own expense and gently placed the extra sunhat on Yysara’s head as to not accidentally put on the had too hard and then suddenly find himself full of spooky Arrancar venom.

“S-So um… Now that I’ve put my stuff away maybe we should continue that tour? I mean, um, we’re already here at the Fourth Division so… would you want a… tour… here?” It was kinda a logical next step for tour-doing, but… Obie threw most logical thoughts about Arrancar out after his first meeting with them. It was safer to not take any chances…

"It is perfectly fine... I see, a bat. That is unexpected." So he wasn't thinking they were all reptiles? Yysara felt more and more confused, but also in a way fulfilled as she found out more about the Espada. She was learning so much about Shinigami! They were quite weird, but that was acceptable since she had expected no less. It was well within the expected parameters.

"Welcome." Her voice was quiet, she had been bowing for some time and seemed to have no end to her well of strength to keep herself bent like that with her... her large assets adding quite a bit of weight to her frame. Once she felt the hat settle on her head, the snake arrancar gave a small smile while raising her form back up. The uniform seemed entirely unmoved by physics, staying perfectly in place as she listened to Obie speak.

No venom or snakes bothered him, Pastel the only one peeking out for the moment as it looked over the gardens. It seemed she had picked up on his snake fear, though it was more she knew people became uneasy around them and was thus trying to be considerate despite her complete confusion as to why snakes were uneasy things for others.

She did reach up hesitantly as if afraid to harm the hat so she could adjust it properly on her head. "Thank you. I think that would be quite nice, then I can leave you to your gardens."

A small nod of acknowledgement was given and she gave a crimson eyed glance around the gardens, her head turning with her snakes as she took one last glance around.

“Y-Yeah, you’re telling me… I don’t anyone would expect a screeching bat… thing to land on their shoulder at anytime.” Obie said softly as he shivered at the memory of that fateful day. Why did Miss Esmeralda have to be full of so many spooky things… But he quickly shook his head to clear it from the all too stressful day that had been as he tried to instead focus on the spooky person in front of him.

…Who apparently had a talent for bowing. For a long time. Which only made Obie even more nervous as he gently placed the hat on her head. How… Why would someone bow for that long? Are snakes known for their bowing? Wait no, that wouldn’t make sense. …Would it? Oh god what if there’s a special breed of snakes that are known to bow a lot and- Well I don’t know what else but bowing snakes would be creepy! Her fantastic gravity-defying suit notwithstanding, Obie didn’t know what to wonder about more: that or the snake that was always near her head. Pasta or Patrel or something…

“R-Right, uh… tour. So just um, f-follow me and we’ll be on our way and stuff.” Attempting to hype himself up by realizing that she’d be gone after the tour, Obie began leading Yysara down one of the many hallways that the 4th Division had. “We, uh… We handle all of the healing here at the Seireitei, both big and small a-and everything. Not exactly known for a lot of fighting so that’s fine with me, we just… patch everyone up from time to time.”

Several Shinigami gave the two curious looks as they passed, but made no attempt to stop him as he led the Arrancar around. Thankfully. “That’s kinda… really all there is about us, really. S-Sorry for being kind of a boring Division to tour around but… I mean that’s all we do. And I don’t really, um, go to many places other than my gardens? Unless called to the operating room or somewhere else. I’m really the one that uh, just makes a lot of the healing salves that we use. T-They’re grown here in the garden, so that’s why… A-And gardening in general is kinda soothing and stuff too. Yeah…”
