Rooftop Lessons

Fay started up her game, but continued to keep a watchful eye over Riye while she was playing. She wanted to help her as much as she was able to, but she didn't want to backseat game for her. She did at one point suggest Riye head down a hallway that looked otherwise without note, because it hid a treasure she wouldn't be able to come back to for a long time. But otherwise, she remained quiet.


"So um... you like the game so far, yeah?" She wondered at a break in the action.

Riye looked happy to discover the treasure that Fay had directed her to, giving a thanks to the woman as she played. She was having a great time playing, it was soothing to just sit here and play games like these with Fay.

"Mhmm! It's a lot of fun." She replied, her smile brightening a little as she said this.

Fay quietly kept watching, taking note that Riye was coming up to an early game plot twist. Crazy shenanigans were about to occur and the protagonist was about to get caught up in the whole wacky adventure of the game.

Fay didn't say anything but she did close her 3DS for a moment and rest her head more fully on Riye, making a content little noise. She wrapped one arm under Riye's legs to hug them as if they were a pillow and making a little amused sound, hoping Riye would find it funny too.

Though this was obviously in no means adorable.

Riye hid none of her reactions as the game progressed, responding accordingly in surprise as she reached a twist, and she watched the screen with interest as she continued playing.

Having been paying so much attention to the game, she was surprised as she felt Fay's arms move around her legs, letting out a small squeak, though afterwards she did laugh a little.

She'd...been paying so much of her attention to the game she hadn't noticed Fay's actions until she'd done them.

Fay smiled when she heard the laugh and nuzzled in, holding Riye tight. "You're doing good so far." The game hadn't gotten at all hard yet, but she still wanted to pay compliments where they were due. "This is fun." She said peacefully. She wasn't feeling sleepy but this was very relaxing. "And you're a very good pillow." She teased.

"Plus, your reactions to the plot are adorable, even if I can't hear them." She was glad she was laying facing away so Riye wouldn't see Fay blushed a little when she paid the silver haired girl the compliment.

"Aaah..." Riye felt herself blushing at Fay's words, especially about her being a good pillow and the compliment about her reactions.

But it was fun though, she was having a nice time playing this with Fay here.

"I-It is fun, a lot of fun." She replied, trying to ignore her tinted cheeks.

Fay giggled, picking up her 3DS so as to be less tempted to tease Riye further. She was laying here being good and she would continue to do so. She glanced up at the screen and inhaled sharply, the wind hissing through her teeth. "Ooh. You're coming up to a boss. He can be a little tough. Fair warning." She said encouragingly, before burying herself in her 3DS, trying not to add any remarks about Riye being cute right now.

"Right, I'll be careful!"

A boss fight then...She'd definitely watch herself and do her best! She didn't want to look silly in front of Fay either, which was also partly a reason for her determination in this.

When she finally reached the boss she kept her attention on the screen, not wanting to make mistakes; she wanted to beat this boss on the first go! It was the first major boss after all!

Fay tried to focus on her game but became distracted as Riye got to the boss, eventually quietly shutting it. She watched intently as Riye fought against the boss, feeling the adrenaline rush she herself got against tough enemies. She pulled one hand up to her face, the other arm tightening around Riye's legs nervously as she watched the action on the screen.

She wanted to offer pointers, but at the same time she didn't want to distract Riye or anything.

Riye was focused; no messing up, she wasn't going to mess up and die! She wanted to win, and deep down maybe impress Fay some...even if this was just the first big boss battle...

It was still important to the game though!

This boss was tricky, but she wasn't going to let herself be fooled too badly; she suffered some damage but in the end came out victorious and she couldn't help but let out a happy, almost cheer.

"I did it!" She laughed happily.

The second Riye one, Fay clapped her hands. "Whoo!" She exclaimed triumphantly, continuing to applaud. As the results screen came up with the experience and money and what not, Fay quickly sat up, scooting over to Riye. "Congrats!" She said with a happy grin. She hugged Riye and gave her a quick nuzzle before pulling back a bit to look her in the eyes.

"And here. As an additional reward for victory." She giggled a little before leaning in and giving Riye a quick smooch. "Um.. For what worth that has as a reward, anyway." She said almost immediately thereafter with a blush and a nervous giggle. She didn't want to just assume a kiss was such a nice bonus, after all.

Riye's laugh became a bit sheepish, somewhat embarrassed about her outburst now that it'd passed, but she'd made Fay happy too and was unable to help but give a happier laugh as the woman hugged and nuzzled her.

A small sound of surprise rose up in her throat at the kiss, blushing after the other woman had pulled away. "I'm glad...I was able to get such...such a nice reward!" It was embarrassing to say, but...but it was true!

She blushed, feeling embarrassed, but knowing Riye meant it. She chuckled a little nervously, before laying down on the bed and putting her head back in Riye's lap. "Um.. Hehe... you.. stuttered less than usual." She pointed out, proud of Riye for that as much as beating the boss. This was all still a little new to her.

She wanted to kiss Riye again but she was trying her best to avoid this turning into some sort of sloppy makeout fest. She settle on leaning forward and kissing Riye's leg, almost on her knee.

"I-I did...didn't I?" Riye mused, giving a small giggle as she realized that; she hadn't stuttered as much! She was happy to realize that.

While she was trapped in her thoughts of happiness on not stuttering as much, and for beating the boss, she didn't notice Fay move to kiss her knee, which caused a small surprised squeak from her as her cheeks brightened.

Though, when she realized the action, she gave another small laugh.

Fay giggled, settling back to her comfy position and picking up her 3DS again, beginning to play it, even if it was in part just so she wouldn't be tempted to tease Riye further. "Well.. I'm glad I can still surprise you a LITTLE." She said with a happy giggle. "Though I am glad you're getting used to it. And glad you're taking so well to the game. Good news all around if you ask me." She said with another happy giggle.

She didn't put much thought to the matter, but she realized briefly that this was probably the happiest she'd been in a long time.

"I was surprised, though I was a bit worried I might have accidentally kicked...I'm really glad I didn't." Riye replied, giving a sheepish laugh before she smiled truly again; "I'm glad I'm getting used to it some too, I still have...a lot to work on, but I will, and mhmm! The game is really fun, I'm having a great time!"

It was definitely good news all around! She was doing well with the game and hadn't gotten too surprised by Fay's affectionate gestures, she was improving!

"Yeesh, me too. Wouldn't have been too pretty after that." She joked, blushing just a little. She didn't exactly think she was that pretty now, but she hardly wanted to say that. It would have felt like fishing for compliments. "Well, I'm glad you're getting used to the game and uh... me.." She giggled slightly.

"Hmm..." She suddenly felt just... the sudden urge to start complimenting Riye. "Hey, lemme know when you're at a good point to take a break for a minute or two." She said indifferently.

"A break? Alright, since I just beat a boss maybe there'll be a stopping soon?" Usually there were, the moment she found herself at it she'd pause it for a bit so she could turn her attention to Fay.

Just as she'd thought, it didn't take too long to find herself at one, and with a smile she paused the game and set the controller off to the side. "Pauuused~" She stated with a small laugh as she glanced down at Fay.

Fay waited patiently, not wanting to throw off the flow of the game or anything. However she was visibly happy when Riye paused and glanced up with a smile at her before sliding herself up to sitting facing Riye. She wasted no time beginning attempts to send Riye to blushtown, though that wasn't her goal. Just a pleasant bonus.

She slipped an arm cozily around Riye's back before her other hand reached up and gently went through the silver locks of hair. "You're so beautiful, Riye." She said, almost dreamily. "And your eyes are so pretty." She giggled a little. "Sorry. I just.. had this overwhelming urge to make sure you know how pretty I think you are." Her voice was soft and shaky but sure. She still was confident in flirting but she knew how she felt.

"Aaah a...aa...." Riye had been surprised at first when Fay had suddenly sat up, feeling the woman's arm move around her while the other slipped into her hair; it was definitely her words and tone that that did it though, sending Riye easily into a blushing mess.

She...H...How could she just say things like that and...with that tone of voice!?

"Is...it's...it'sfine! F-fi...aah..."

Fay blushed a little but forced herself to smile, continuing to play with Riye's hair. "Aw, I'm..I didn't mean to make you blush so much." She said, leaning in and giving Riye a quick kiss on the cheek. She made sure it was the cheek. Anything else was dangerous right now. "Though I'm happy I did" She added, managing to keep her voice steady when she said it.

"I'm just.. It's new.. that I can like.. express attraction with someone and just.." She pursed her lips, feeling her own cheeks starting to warm. "I was laying there and I looked up and just thought like... how could I NOT be telling her how beautiful she is right now?" She looked away worried that had sounded corny... but it was true!

"It-It's f-fine...r...aaah...really-!" A small, flustered squeak escaped her this time as Fay leaned in to kiss her cheek; she was just way too flustered right now!

She...She felt happy hearing such nice things from Fay, but was having trouble responding in her current state...she...she just wasn't used to hearing such things!

Fay had...had called her b...beautiful...

"Mm, good." She said, holding Riye a little tighter, still playing with her hair. She looked away and giggled. "You're really cute too.." She said, still unable to do anything BUT adore those little squeak noises. "Buuut I want. to um.. focus on pretty." She looked back up to her.

"N-not just because of um..." She bit her lip for a moment looking away. She hoped Riye appreciated the fact that this was scarier than most life or death situations Fay had been in. She was being brave though! "Your eyes and hair although I do.. really really like them... Heh... If you had brown hair and brown eyes I... I'd still be swooning." She giggled a little, the silly word she'd thrown in at the end helping.

Riye continued blushing, the heat in her face burning strongly as Fay continued to speak. How red was she right now? She couldn't even fathom a guess other than "very." She was likely very, very red in the face at the moment.

Her...Her eyes and hair...

H-How was Fay able to say all of this!? Again the thought crossed her mind, but...but it had to be terrifying, right? She knew she'd be freaking out trying to will herself to say things to Fay no matter how true they were!

"A-Aaa..." She...She should try to say something, more than just unintelligible noises! "P-Pretty....y-you too..."

That had come out so stupid!

Fay moved some attention of the hand playing with Riye's hair to her face, moving hair out of the way and gently stroking it. She was trying not to mess with Riye too much. The hair was calming, right? She was pretty sure it was, anyway. "Hm?" She made a small noise when Riye finally managed a set of words that could be construed as a sentence.

She leaned in suddenly and gave Riye a quick peck on the lips, blushing a little more than before. She was doing her best to be stoic, but even the stuttered compliment made her feel like there was some sort of butterfly jamboree going on in her stomach. "Hmhm. N-not as pretty as you." She insisted.
